Yep, I tried to order from them twice, NEVER again though.
Complete crap, dont return calls or emails, dont let you know shipping info, take for EVER to ship IF they do.

tkl- I was not follwing board policy and the police caught me red handed. So I removed the vile content and left what shall serve as a warning of sorts to others who may heed it or not...

As many have pointed out Botach runs hot and cold.

I personally have had some very good experiences with them. I have also had several horrible experiences. Bar Kochba Botach rarely returns calls, I am sure his employees ever do. And of course the screwups are never his fault, nor does he believe he is ever obligated to deal with them. That's been my experience anyway, and that's why it has been almost 3 years since I last ordered from Botach.

It only takes one or two awful experiences to never want to do business with Botach again. Anybody who does business with them repeatedly WILL end up with one or more awful experiences.

i did order from them once, and as usual, they shipped partial items to me and saying the other items were on back order. So i said to cancel the order. Never checked if the order was canceled or not, (it was worth $5, at most), too much hassle.
i called it the last time i order from them.

I think people were too optimistic about Botach when they became a paying sponsor. They screwed up the first time, and it appears they screwed up the second time.

botach has proven to be a dealer of ill repute.

personally, i'd never even consider buying from them, despite some of the apparent positive deals recently.

bought some cr123's from him... can't complain.. at a dollar each with free shipping, I got them all.

I bought some 123's and I can't complain either. Fast shipping and delivered as described.

I do, however, think it was a little deceiving how "napol" posted in the Dealer's Corner and hasn't been back since to answer questions or anything. Two posts total - both over a month ago. Looks like they tried to come in under the radar and establish a clean and somewhat anonymous slate by acting like they weren't associated with Botach or something. I don't agree with their "technique."

Perhaps an incident report with only step by step facts as the events happened, and let us come to our own judgement on what to feel.

In general,

I think one can assume that there is a correlation between price and service; the higher a price or embeded margin, the better the service and visa versa. From what little I know, BoTach's sale prices are at levels where most dealers could not stay in business, should they meet these prices. I have sent "votes" to Botach for items which I considered "commodities" and have not been burned yet. It may be just a matter of time. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Every time they screw up, they are doing a favor for some of the dealers we have all come to like and use for our needs.

If you go for the big discount, don't be surprised if the service itself is discounted as well. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif[/img]
