Even smaller! What emitter does it use?

I really like the new design of the tailswitch. What user interface did you use on this one? I just got the D-Mini Extreme and I LOVE the non-memory user interface on it.

Re: The new generation of Pocket Rocket : D-mini VX release in Sep-2009
I lik the tail switch.
The body looks funny, to many different diameters. It goes fat then skinny then a little fat then skinny then fat etc. Maybe at least taper the head?
Its not bad, it just looks like there is a lot going on.
Does it have a new better reflector? Does it use a R2? Unless one or both of these is the case it seems like this is just a new body. Am i wrong? What is the point of upgrading?
It does look like it will really be just a flamethrower that fits in your palm though I like that.

Re: The new generation of Pocket Rocket : D-mini VX release in Sep-2009
Hi cheetokhan,
The UI is much more BETTER than before.
You can lock it at any level.
Hi eyeeatingfish,
While it is a new generation, not only the apperance but all the components.
So, we will quote all details in this month.
And you concern THROW?
It is much stronger than anyone thought.
So, does it meant smaller hotspot?
No, for sure.
For all your questions.
The same answer "If you think you know D-mini, THINK AGAIN"
Best regards,
Ricky - Lumapower

Hmm... Not sure what that means. I want my light to always come on in the same mode. For a small light like this, I would prefer that it always come on in low mode, but I can live with high mode first.
Can I lock in the start-up mode, like a Jetbeam IBS light, or does this light lock in the last mode it was running when it's switched off? I'm not sure what you mean by "lock it at any level".
Can this new tailswitch fit onto my D-Mini EX?

Re: The new generation of Pocket Rocket : D-mini VX release in Sep-2009
Hi cheetokhan,
Yes, it can be always come on in any-level you want.
With the new UI, you can lock it at Low or Med or High.
When you lock it, it works like a single stage light.
After you unlock it, it works the same as our EDC series.
Best regards,

Hi problemchild200,
No, a 40W flashlight needs 5x18650.
It is not a D-mini but D-GIANT.
BTW, it also acts as an 37W portable HEATER.
Best regards,
Ricky - Lumapower CS

Warren, this photo is labeled Lumapower_portable_search_light-Q35A. Are you saying that this is the beam from the new D-Mini?

Re: The new generation of Pocket Rocket : D-mini VX release in Sep-2009
Wow, that's awfully bright compared to the other beamshots here.
I'm guessing Lumapower stuffed an MCE in there??? Or is this a newer emitter?

Re: The new generation of Pocket Rocket : D-mini VX release in Sep-2009
VX is using
XR-E Q5 for cool white
XR-E Q3 5A for warm white.
Diameter of reflector got bigger at 38mm
whereas original D-mini was 30mm.
original D-mini hits 100 meter target easy...
Ricky's reflector is second to none.
me think that ;
D-miniVX thorws same or more as MRV Q5
let me remind you the title of this thread " Pocket Rocket"

This might be my dream EDC, multilevel, with the ability to "lock" onto one of the levels easily!
plus improved throw to boot.
Please, more info!

Re: The new generation of Pocket Rocket : D-mini VX release in Sep-2009
Looks great! I'm in. Great that it tailstands! You wouldn't have a diffusor (like on the MJP ExtremeIII) laying around- for lantern mode would you? ( worth a try).

Hi sledhead,
Thanks for comments and supporting.
The new D-mini VX also added anti-roll features...
We will offer diffuser for our EDC series at first and will also consider to do it for other models.
Best regards,

Diffuser option, AWESOME!
Try a flip up flat diffuser like the latest Fenixes...

Re: The new generation of Pocket Rocket : D-mini VX release in Sep-2009
Better! - Tailstands
- Anti-Roll
- Smaller
- Knurling for easier battery change
- Crenulated bezel
- Less sharp edges in the middle (near "digital" text)
One suggestion, I think it would look better with some flat spots in the middle section. Currently it looks like a rook in the game of chess, not a flashlight.

Re: The new generation of Pocket Rocket : D-mini VX release in Sep-2009
It does indeed look like a Rook on a chessboard. Can't believe it's been a few years since the first release of D-mini. Looking forward to the new D-mini, looks to be quite a thrower!
