-> Glow in the Dark O-Rings (aka "Glo-Rings") Part III
"Glo-Rings"
(Glow in the Dark O-Rings)
You've seen these offered here in the B/S/T. GreenLED used to sell them and others have provided them as well. As stocks run out here & there I am going to attempt to keep a supply of them available also. Price structure will remain the same as GreenLED offered them.
(Click here for update in post #342.)
$2 for any 6 Glo-Rings
Folks continue to ask which sizes fit which lights.
As I do not have all lights to fit test, I am now offering a sample pack of 10 Glo-Rings (1 of each size), for your testing purposes.
Now available: $3 Sample Pack of 10 Glo-Rings (1 of each size)
- NOTE: No substitutions in Sample Pack -
---
Click on the following links for more info (provided by GreenLED):
Review - GID Info- Temperature Info
ALL of the following sizes are in stock & available (as of May 5, 2008) Please note the sizing comments at the bottom of this post - Thank you!:
---
- 1" (25mm): SF KL5 & U2 (bezel), Pila GL3 & GL4, & replace bezel o-rings between reflector & window (McLux III-PD, Aleph 2, Aleph 19)
- 7/8"(22mm): fits the outer ring on McGizmo's MULE, what else?, behind the lens of G2z, G2, 6P etc.

--> Please add $1 for ALL International shipping. <--
* Please post your interest in this thread & send PayPal to:
rclark344 ( at ) aol ( dot ) com
* Please include CPF name& description of Glo-Rings ordered in your PayPal message.
I've had 3 shipments turn up missing. The initial missing shipment AND it's missing replacement were both sent to the same verified address in Russia. The 3rd missing shipment was to California and a replacement is on the way. Additionally there seems to be a problem with refunding payments to Russian accounts.
Therefore I will NOT be shipping to Russia from this date forward. Sorry!
We'll see how this goes and if I can continue to make them available to you all.
(Note: It appears the measurements are taken from the center of the rubber to the center of the rubber, with a thickness of approximately 2mm. Example: A 22mm ring would have an inside diameter of 21 mm and an outside diameter of 23mm. These measurements are approximate, as there can be differences between batches. Most folks are orderng a variety of sizes (or a Sample Pack) to determine what fits their specific applications. They are quite stretchy as well. Please note that the "size fits" comments above are suggestions from members. If I had all the lights I'd like to "test fit", I'd be able to provide more specific information.)

Hey Sig, did you figure out if the wife sent out all rings, if you are sending another batch to complete the order or if you would rather refund the rest? No rush, just wondering.
Thanks, g.

Hey Sarge...seems they got mailed out yesterday in the midst of an 8" dump of snow that decided to take up most of my day shoveling the neighborhood!

Excellent!
Thank you for all your effort.
While you are at it feel free to send some of that snow my way! It's been awhile since we have had a white Christmas here.

Sigman,
How are the trails looking so far? I saw a mention of running dogs the other day and since I'll be back in Alaska next week I'm really curious about trails! (I'm a snowmachine guide and have to help take care of all the trails at the resort.)
I'll finally get to see the ARC I got from you too!
Sorry for the OT....

Re: -> Glow in the Dark O-Rings (aka "Glo-Rings") Part III
THREAD INTERRUPT!
I bought an Arc AAA from Sigman via PM while I was in Japan and when I got back to Alaska today I found it among a pile of other lights I bought but hadn't seen yet over the past two months.
Well Sigman, like a fellow Alaskan, went beyond call of duty and stuck something on the front of the package.
Naturally since the pile of packages on the bed were all lights with the exception of one knife, I had to turn off the light, which is when I realized what was on the package. Because shining through the wrapping were two rings of green!
Sigman, thanks for the light and I now understand why so many of you love your Arc AAA's, and I've got a couple GID rings which you threw in too!

Re: -> Glow in the Dark O-Rings (aka "Glo-Rings") Part III
Hi there,
According to the descriptions, the 19mm will replace the oring between the lens and the reflector on the HDSes.
I have a Novatac 120P that I want to swap the stock oring behind the lens to a glow-ring. Will the 19mm for the job for sure?

Centropolis - did you read the note at the bottom of the first post? Hopefully someone will chime in with a definitive answer.

But I screwed up and did not include my CPF name in the comments of my payment. Please let me know if that is a problem.

I got mine today. Judging by the dates you should have yours in the next few days. I wouldn't worry, Rick is a stand up guy. I've never had anything go wrong with Rick including previous orders of glorings. Keep in mind he's all the way in Alaska. They'll show up in a stamped envelope.

Re: -> Glow in the Dark O-Rings (aka "Glo-Rings") Part III
Thanks darkzero!
zenlunatic - The Star Trek transporter has been on the fritz lately and therefore it takes the U.S. Postal ponies a few days to get from Alaska to the East Coast. Typically we get the rings together that day -or the next depending on life- and usually work it into an errand or two while we mush around town. In this case your's weren't sent until the 6th.
The last few orders were shipped on the following dates:
darkzero - Jan. 3rd
Ubi - Jan. 3rd
Yucca Patrol - Jan. 3rd
9881255 - Jan. 6th
At this point I've got to add...supplying these Glo-Rings to the members is merely a service for us all. I've tried to keep an assorted supply on hand for the members since Migs quit selling them. Seems there were a couple others selling them for a short time, but didn't turn out to be a regular thing. It's not a financial "killer" for me to try & keep them supplied, HOWEVER...
Postage, envelopes (depending on order size), gasoline, time, & keeping the sled dogs fed...we're really not making anything here. As a matter of fact, we've been ripped off a few times. Perhaps others from around the WWW found our "cookie jar" & decided to taste a few? It's too bad as they can ruin it for 99.99% of the rest of us.
On that subject, I've received numerous "unverified" PayPal payments (some of those caused some problems). I'm hesitating to even fill those orders in the future. If it's a small amount - no big deal, HOWEVER when we receive a request for $30 worth from an "unverified" PayPal account and it doesn't come through OR a member says they didn't receive their $30 worth of Glo-Rings...Know what I'm saying?
I've said in the first post I won't ship to Russia in the future (due to "non-arrival of goods" and again even after replacement) - however I don't think I've turned anyone away. Folks, this is money out of my wallet. Won't get into my own financial situation - but $30 can buy some reasonable food if one shops wisely! Enough said...
Hey we still try to actually include 7 for every 6 ordered (and sometimes maybe more if we're not paying attention!).
Hmmm, it's pretty cold here - breaking all sorts of records for days in the minus double digits...hard to get the sled dogs out of their houses! Four humans in our family, each with a vehicle. The cold snap has caused 3 of them to "freeze up" - therefore some of my time has also been playing vehicle doctor! Oh what fun!! NOT!!

Re: -> Glow in the Dark O-Rings (aka "Glo-Rings") Part III
Got mine today! Wasn't worried about the seller at all! I was actually expecting a longer ship time via usps! Look great! Can't wait to start addin' these to my toys! Sorry for the unverified paypal, the card I use is my bank card, but I use it as a credit card because it gives me "points" to spend later & is easier to dispute with the bank if used as a credit card. My paypal acct was attached to a credit card a few years ago, but before I bilt my house, I paid it down, cancelled, & switched my paypal over to my debit card, but never went through with the verification process. I did read your post about the nonverified accts & am grateful you even considered my sale! Thanks again for a very cool product!
