Post 2008 Inova's Coming Soon!! Interested?

CPF'ers,
UPDATE 2-25-08

Here is some additional info on runtimes and Lux readings(Lux readings taken by BOGUSA @1meter with fresh Panasonic batteries using a DX Lodestar LS1330A:

T1 - Advertised Runtime Regulated for approx. 3.75 hours @ 100 lumen and then drops out over the next 2 hours. Actual Lux Rating: 1660@ 1 meter.

T2 - Advertised Runtime Regulated for approx. 2.6 hours @125 lumen and then drops out over the next 1.4 hours. Actual Lux Rating: 3680

T3 - Advertised Runtime Regulated for 2.5 hours@ 150+ lumen and then drops out over the next 1.5 hours. Actual Lux Rating: 2370 (this is strange since the T2 got a higher lux rating, but may be due to a tighter beam pattern?). (older T3 with optic lux reading: 1640)

Hope that helps...

You heard it here first...

Excellent news! I have been wanting to buy an Inova but would not due to their choice of K2 emitters.

Hopefully they keep the reflectors instead of optics and hopefully, the reflectors smooth out the beams and don't leave a bunch of rings.

Well a year late is better than never.

Anyway I think I may be able to stop groaning and moaning every time i hear mention of Inova. Thanks for the info Flavio. I am interested. Let's see what they are using for UI. But so far it's looking good. I"m hoping they make something that uses an optic, not the whole line, but throw something back in there for us optics nuts.

Inova is about a year and a half late to the game, an eternity in today's flashlight business.

Having said that, I'm willing to forgive and forget the moment they bring out that X1 with a R4 eimtter in it.

Well this is good news indeed and if Inova lives up to their reputation these should be very well made products. I am curious if they have any plans for their X5 or even the X1 to receive changes?.....Imagine that slick little X1 with a Cree or even better the tried and true X5

Do you know what the lumen rating is on low?

I'm glad to hear this! Inova is one of those companies that I would've bought a light or two from already if they had more efficient emitters simply because I've heard how durable they are - plus I think a lot of them are GORGEOUS. Here's hoping I'll have an excuse to pick one up! Waiting in great anticipation for more information!

I just had an awesome idea! Inova should use the new Nichia DS 5mm LED's that Arc is using for their AAA-P for the X1 and X5. Battery life should be better than the Gen. 2 versions while nearly doubling that generations output. Inova should really be using premium LED's in their "premium" (to the masses) flashlights, such as R bins in their X0 and T line, and DS like previously mentioned. I WILL buy more Inovas if this happens!

Hmmm, I think a T4 or T5 might be replacing my brother's Magcharger. This will prove to be interesting. Thanks for the heads up, and please keep posting with updated information!

Updated rumors abound on CPF...
Are we sure they're crees? Or are they new TFFC K2s?

Both have their merits, I'd buy either as long as they're good bins.
