The Story behind RaidFire® SpearTM :

The RaidFire® SpearTM is specifically designed to achieve the longest light throw distance of any light in its class. Compared to any other similarly featured flashlights currently available, none can match the same distance of throw. EDGE Tactical Light Co. Ltd.’s designer Y. D. Wong observed that there was a throw limit that these other flashlights could not go beyond with their current designs and physical constraints. The observed limitation was due to the technology applied during the machining process. Extending the throw distance in this class of lights, requires an increase in the diameter of the reflector, which also increases the weight and size of the flashlight. Y.D. Wong understood that using “standard” machining techniques, the resulting increase in size and weight of the light to achieve the desired throw, would remove the light from an EDC (Every Day Carry) class. He was determined to create a light which could achieve a throw which went beyond current designs. After rigorous R&D, trial and error, test after test, Y.D. finally developed the “Super Reflector” which surpassed and went beyond previous limits. This new reflector used in the RaidFire® SpearTM has the same diameter as the competitions’ (36mm), but exceeds them with an approximately 20% increase in light-gathering capacity.

Beside the new “Super Reflector Technology”, RaidFire® is also proud of the regulated Light Engine E3TM circuit used in this light. The technically advanced regulated circuit is designed for one single Li-ion battery, has excellent efficiency and regulating capacity. When under Max Output, the Light Engine E3TM of the SpearTM will be able to produce 1.16A invariable current to the LED, which allows one Q5 CREE LED to throw and amazing light output of 250 lumens. At this time, Light Engine E3TM draws a 1.29A current from battery on average, with an actual circuit efficiency reaching about 90%. By using such a high efficiency circuit, RaidFire® SpearTM is able to maintain a constant maximum output for up to 110 minutes when using one 2400mAH 18650 Li-ion battery.

With this increased output, the obvious issue with heat sinking was also addressed. In order to reconcile the heat sink issue, RaidFire® applied the ThermoflowTM heat sinking process to make the constant long-term high output a reality for the RaidFire® SpearTM.


So, now not only do we have a high output and light-gathering capacity, we also have an extended and long runtime. The RaidFire® SpearTM can also be switched to a low output mode through rotating the light bezel. One single 18650 Li-ion battery can be used constantly for more than 200 hours when under low output mode.

RaidFire® SpearTM is designed for an exceptional long throw and ideal for tactical use. The rugged design of the light body, combined with crenaleted bezel and forward clicky, will meet and overcome any potential threats to come in front of it. The technically advanced features of the new RaidFire® SpearTM will make this the most reliable and ideal lighting tool whether you’re on the job or need “failure is not an option” illumination.

About patented ThermoflowTM heat sinking design / cooling device

This unique heat sinking design, draws cool air through the heat sinking holes creating an airflow which thru natural induction effectively dissipates heat. Based on our test results, this construction and process increases the heat sinking by another 30%, which makes the continuous longtime working of exceeding high-power flashlights possible.



About Dual-CoatingTM technique:

In order to increase the transmittance of light, the lens used in professional flashlights usually applies Antireflection Coatings technique. But as everyone knows, lens and antireflection coatings, exposing outside, are both very vulnerable and easy to have rubbing abrasion due to frequent daily use. And when our engineers are studying the technique of antireflection coatings, they find that, the antireflection coating plated on the outer face of the lens actually has no use of increasing the light transmittance. Aiming at this phenomenon, we finally create this unique technique ---- Dual-CoatingTM so as to solve the problem. As to this special technique, it’s by plating a layer of antireflection coating on the inner face of the lens, which can effectively help increase the transmittance; while plating a layer of diamond coating on the other side of the lens (the outer face). The diamond coating owns extremely high light transmittance and the capacity to protect the lens from abrasion. That is to say, Dual-CoatingTM technique provides flashlight lens with these extremely high light transmittance and extraordinary anti-abrasion capacity, making it the most suitable and unique coating technique for them.

Warranty Service

EDGE Tactical Light Co. Ltd. warrants each RaidFire® SpearTM flashlight to be free from defects in materials and workmanship. Our obligation under this warranty shall be limited to replacing or repairing any RaidFire® flashlight or part thereof returned (prepaid) to us and found to be defective in either material or workmanship. This service will be provided free of charge for parts or labor within one year counting from the date of purchasing. Misuse voids warranty, expressed or implied.

RaidFire®flashlights enjoy the brand's warranty service worldwide. Within 7 days after receipt, any defective lights will be offered free replacement by RaidFire®distributors unconditionally; Within 12 months after receipt, EDGE Tactical Light Co. Ltd. offers free repair after service, except for damages caused by misuse. As to those exceed the above time period, EDGE will still provide with warranty service, only repair charge should be included. Customers may contact local distributor or EDGE Tactical Light Co. Ltd. for warranty service. Please be noted this warranty service does not include the followings:

1. Damages caused by disassembly or modification without permission;
2. Damages to the appearance caused by misuse or incidental happening (such as crash, knock, squeeze, etc.);
3. Damages caused by misplacement of batteries or battery leakage.
