Hi, frosty,
Thanks your question, use WC Q4, 1m lux reading 12000+ with OP reflector, but limited, WD/ WG Q2 lux reading at 1m 10000+ with OP reflector.
SMO will update...
The 2 stage and 5 mode circuit same as CL1H, The 3 mode circuit is new.
Thanks and best regards
Alan

Yeah that would be great if we can update our modules with this higher spec pill.

Re: Dereelight--DBS Super thrower
for DBS with 2-stage module and EMS shipping ($114).
I too may be interested in picking up the 3-mode module if you offered it separately. Any chance of coming out with a multi-stage module that also runs on primaries?

Re: Dereelight--DBS Super thrower
if the threads match, an upgrade-head for the cl1h would be a nice thing

Re: Dereelight--DBS Super thrower
Alan,
What are the advantages / benefits of buying the DBS (2 mode) instead of the CL1H (2 mode)? I have been looking at getting the CL1H (now Version 3). Now that the DBS is out and more expensive , other than a larger head, what is the difference?

DBS has a larger head and larger reflector, which will give you more throw. Larger head and larger reflector ='s more materials = higher price.

Yes, but what I want to know is, is there something less obvious (i.e. better driver / electronics) that is causing the increase. Obviously the larger head, bezel, reflector and lens all use more material which means more cost.

We are still waiting for more details, but the 3-stage comes with a Q4 bin and newer and more expensive circuitry. I'm not sure if the 2 and 5 stages will be Q4 bins, but it sounds like they are.
It doesn't cost as much as a Tiablo. I'm not sure why you're surprised by it costing more, I was expecting it to cost more, it's a larger light, and it's also a more specialized light, such as a MRV, Tiablo, etc.

Alan, I think people are waiting for prices on modules and pills (say: 3-mode) before completing their orders with you.
thanks

The DBS is for lighting things on far distances, but it's not as useful for lighting rooms or bigger areas as the spot is tight & bright.
Furthermore it's bigger (esp. the head) as the power has to come from somewhere
The CL1H is small and versatile. But it's obviously not as good in lighting things far away.
so DBS - long distance light, not that good at short distances
CL1H - short-medium distance light + smaller
Either you know that you're going to use only one of the lights.. or you'll have to buy both!

Hi Alan,
I'm interested in 5 modes, does it comes with smooth reflector?
I prefer smooth reflector. And which one is brighter from your test result - the 5 modes or the 3 modes?

The current on High all set at 1A, so the brightness almost same., SMO is standard config.
Thanks
