Jeers to RCatR [combined complains and resolutions]

This may seem strange, but here it goes:

I'm opening this up to provide a central place for people to discuss/complain/etc. their experiences with me; and so that we can get everything worked out.

To set things straight I want to say first and foremost:
I have messed up with my aspheric M*glite GB in every way possible.

I'm not trying to come off as defensive, and I'm not trying to make excuses. I'm trying to come off as straightfoward: I have messed up(big time) and I need to get this sorted out.

Since my last update things have been up, down, and sideways:
I took in too many orders-flashlights, video editing, machining, and not to mention my own stuff(overhauling my truck, running around the farm, moving back to Rochester)
The combined stresses gave me somewhat of a breakdown, and I concentrated on only getting my truck running and getting back to school.
Once back here I had to fight to get my financial aid approved, which I managed to do last week. I've currently got my classes under control, and I have a steady job working in a machine shop, which gives me access to a CNC mill and lathe.

Hey Ryan,

Glad you're back! I did receive my light. The only thing I was waiting on was the proper tail cap assembly. I used my dremel to strip the bottom of the tail cap and stuffed it with aluminum foil. I would like to get a proper tail cap assembly if there are other parts that are supposed to be down there, but I'm in no hurry as I have my light and it's working (great I might add!!!).

I'd just like to say well done to Ryan for coming back and sorting this out.
As a previous happy customer I've been following the "what's happened to RCatR" story. I really hope you can manage to please everyone by resolving any outstanding work, and then look to the future.

Reopening discussion and posting updates is welcome. I am not quite in the Jeers camp yet, but getting what I ordered in the next month or less would be nice.

I dont think the jeers forums is the apropiate place for this. I understand your concern but , the actual GB thread should be more appropiate for updates and the likes. Maibe an admin can chime in here and correct me if im wrong..

Very off topic, but where in rochester do you live.... i only ask because i too live in rochester.... been a while since i saw another living person who liked lights as much as i do!!

At this point I would like to request a complete refund unless the light can be delivered within the next 2 weeks.

Wow I didn't think this many people were having problems with Rcat. I honestly thought it was just me. since I was one of the last ones to order from the "TearDrop" Mod.

I can only assume that he over estimated his capacity to fulfill these orders.

I ordered my set of lights in may I received them last week. When originally he stated it would take about 3 or 4 weeks. 5 months later I have my lights which is fine giving the situation with personal problems, tools, school, etc.

I don't like rushing people especially when they are doing something for me that I know I can't do.

In his defense though he was nice and did a few other complimentary mods.
The only complaint I have is that it seemed that he rushed my lights a bit after I started to hound him every other week and some of the cuts are off on the black light.

He needs to work on his QC and time management.

Would I buy from him again? Yes.

Be patient, You'll be happy when you recieve your lights.

I do hope something happens soon.

Nothing yet for me... no light, refund, friendly PM/email saying, "hey, I've been having a heck of a time with your light. How about we just keep it a bit more simple and I can get it to you in a couple weeks?
Oh, did I mention a Refund? That would do as well.

Good to know that he is getting things done. I'm more old fashioned, I prefer Email. I will see if I can find an open source aim compatible client and give that a try if I don't get a pm soon.

I'm sorry for the lack of communication, classes took up 100% of my time for the past few weeks. I finished my finals early last week, and spent the rest of the week building a member's m6. As of right now I am locked out of the shop, and the power is cut until Friday when the campus fires back up. In the mean time I've been organizing, wiring, and polishing the parts that are finished.

Action and PhantomPhoton: I'll send out your refund tomorrow once I deposit my paycheck, you should receive the paypal by 3pm.

Abolish:Can you shoot me a PM about the black mag? Everything should have checked out on it

In the future; if I turn out more lights it will never be on a prepay basis. Build and stock would have prevented all of this

I sure hope you are not accepting new orders while this backlog is still unresolved - that's what got awr and others into trouble.

I have been willing to stick by my order because I felt it wasn't fair to ask for a refund when you have already bought all the raw materials. But that's provided we are given a realistic target date for when we can expect to receive our goods - right now, I am still in the dark and the weeks and months (6 and counting) just seem to roll by without any sign of progress (as would be indicated by updates in your 2nd post above). Given the situation, I don't think it's unreasonable for me to ask for an update at least on a fortnightly basis.
