What happened to the Phazer 5 thread?

Wayne was probably nervous that someone asian was going to steal his idea over to china and start producing it based on the pics. I think it happened to his tri-star phazer. They did not even bother to change the name and they are wanting $195 for it instead of near the price Wayne was charging.

Well, I put up the thead about it too fast. I will not be making it in a TS Phazer body, so I felt it was just not appropriate to have it up. I also felt that it might steal away some of the thunder from the TS Phazer 3X3.

The Pentalux, to run it at full power, needs a lot of heat sinking. I don't think the TS Phazer body is the right choice for it. I could be wrong, but that's sort of what I'm thinking right now.

I'm also really leaning to the 'Quad' design. I'm working on getting some 2D aluminum flashlights in, and I'll start offering it as a regular item from my shopping cart. I cannot advertise the Quad using the Mag 2D, as Mag is so litigous, I'd be asking for trouble. I am still offering the Quad, but probably most people don't know I am.

I'll probably put the Pentalux design in a specially designed head for a bike light. Right now I'm trying to find a good used lathe, so I can do the work myself. I have a little Tinker Toy lathe which is not powerful enough to do what I want. I am making the head now, but it is soooo slow, takes my lathe forever to make the head. When I finish it, I'll post some photos. This will not be a flashlight, but a bike like for handlebars or helmet mount. I'll make the parts at my office/shop, have them anodized, etc., all in-house. I'll also make a much less expensive single 3W Luxeon bike light, which would be good for normal night time street riding. The Pentalux would be too bright, unless power were cut way down.

How does it compare to 5 17mm reflectors?
