Anyone own both of these? I have the Big Bruiser and was thinking about a FireSword V but was wondering about the beam differences or lack there of. Are these two lights very similar or would the FireSword give you something the BB does not?

Just thought I'd point out that the SST-90 Search & Rescue light price is now the same as the FireSword.
Both the Big Bruiser and FireSword are considered flood lights.
But they have pretty decent throw because of sheer amount of lumens they produce.
If your looking for something different with some kick in the pants throw, I would suggest the SST-90 S&R.

Both the Big Bruiser and the FireSword-V are around 3000 lumens. the beam is basically the same. They are very different in many ways.
FireSword-V has four amperage regulation circuits, one for each LED. It has over voltage and low voltage protection, and high temperature thermal cut off protection. It also has low/high settings (3000 lumens or 1000 lumens.) It is also UL safety certified. It is powered from four 18650 batteries, 1 hour on high, 3 hours on low power. It is 13" long, a 2.5" diameter head.
Big Bruiser is 3000 lumens, powered from a single 26650 battery. it is direct drive with no circuitry at all. run time is 20 minutes approximately, but depends on batteries used. Head is 2" diameter, body is 1.25", overall length is 6". This is a pocket rocket.
Both have been really good sellers for me. I have been surprised at Big Bruiser's popularity, as I just made it as a kind of fun light. It is amazingly bright for something so small.

If the FireSword had the ability to change from high to low power on the "outside" of the housing I would own one![]()

The only reason The FireSword-V has the ability for high/low setting, is that a company purchased a huge quantity from me, and, they wanted the FireSword to be able to have a low setting, and they distributed it to their employees on low setting. They also wanted it to have the ability to be set on high, for some who wanted high setting. They did not want an external switch to change the settings. But I agree, it would be great to have an external switch to change brightness. It would be difficult to do so on the FireSword, but in the future I might design another flashlight, complete different design, and have the switching capability. This circuit board would make a great bike light, or ATV light.

How soon will the FireSword V be available again???
