My "Hand-Sun HID" arrived today. My first impressions are "IMPRESSIVE" And it was very well packed indeed, thank you.

I hope to give it a proper workout this weekend where I have enough space to let it do its thing.

I do have a question re the charger. I can't use the supplied "wall-wart" as our AC power is 240v 50Hz (a bit too much for something designed for 120v 60Hz). The output of the supplied "wall-wart" is 12V 500mA. I have an Oz "wall wart" that supplies 12v 1,000mA, would that be OK to use for the charger ?

any "wall wart" with a 12-15v output at 500-3000mA will work just fine with the internal charging system and batt. just make sure polarity and plug size match. you want a Neg ground, Positive tip'd plug.
i'm glad to hear you are happy with your purchase! i can't wait to hear what you think when you can get her out and really stretch her legs!

Tried it out when I was camping, it put out way more lumens than anything else I've got, and threw further than I can see properly without some kind of optical aid (ie binocs or telescopes). Plus it is a great "Crocodile Dundee" light ("That's not a light, THIS is a light").

It definitely confirmed my status as a "light geek" with my non-flashaholic friends

Of course, if I'm brutally honest I don't really have a practical use for it, but seeing as I bought it as a "show-off" light then it is perfectly fit for purpose and I'm happy

Hey Fritz, have you thought about using a more compact host? I think a somewhat Barn Burnerish sized light with somewhat Barn Burnerish performance would be a hot seller! Make mine a 100w version.

    TTT!!!
