It will be really tricky filing the internal threads in the flashlight head, LOL. I'm sure touching-up the external threads will help and I usually use a little Nyogel to lubricate the threads. Silicone is an electrical insulator while Nyogel doesn't inhibit electrical flow from the head to the battery holder.

I got my R4 today , 8 days from China to the Netherlands , it's fast!
Well centered led and a very nice tint on the led , nothing wrong with this little light , it performes very good so far.
Smooth and clean threads , I think it will me serve well for years , BTW I did lube the threads with Nyogel and that worked very well.

I ordered one of these on the 5th of May. I have not received any correspondence at all. I am not sure if my order was ever shipped or even received. How long should I wait before I go get my money back?

They don't email you with progress of your order. Items usually turn up after 2-3 weeks.

The fact that noone else has posted about orders not being received or sent should be of some assurance?

The walls are so thin on these lights. In aluminium it would almost be like a soft drink can. I can't see much if any benefit to be had in terms of weight, cost, or heat transfer either.

I have the original DQG AAA in aluminum, but the III-version looks like it may be a little bit smaller?
My DQG AA in SS feels heavy even with lithium battery inside.

I've seen Derfyled's upclose and it is definitelty neutral, the R5 is cool but I haven't seen that one.
