Default Question about "good deals" Forum

Hi I had a thread in good deals for a sale that got deleted because it cross linked to the dealers thread announcing the sale. It is against the rules to cross link and I apologize. My question is would it have been OK to link directly to his sale or since he is a authorized dealer with a sales thread that would not have been kosher?

If I see a CPF sponsor with a great sale that is a win/win just want to follow the rules with my threads.

    Thanks!

Your thread sounds as if it was a pointer, with no other reason for its existence than to draw attention to another thread.

Rule 9 is quite specific about that:

DO NOT post a thread whose sole purpose is to link to or refer to another thread on the board, whether it is yours or someone else's.
Note the words "sole purpose" in there. What this means is that you can't start a new thread just to point to a deal, but you can make a post in a related thread to draw members' attention to it.

I hope I've explained that reasonably clearly.
    Resistance is futile...

That is about it. Thanks DM51. I should read the rules more often.
