Shouldn't be a problem, as the 3100mahs are a bit thinner than the 2900s.

My Xtar 2600 & 2400s don't fit, those cells are about 18.5-18.7mm thick on the ones I got. Trustfire 2400 "flames" fit and so do AW IMR18650s. AW 3100s and 2900s are around the 18.5mm mark, I reckon it all boils down to production tolerances, some will fit and some won't. I'm currently looking to get Panasonic CGR18650s, they are unprotected safe chemistry type cells like AW's IMR but with higher capacity. I forsee that many people are going to have issues with 18650 cells not fitting, especially the high capacity ones. Perhaps we should have a table of cells that fit and don't fit for future buyers.

My light arrived DOA, I just email customer service at CNQ, lets hope they are a nice bunch, this is the 1st DOA light I've ever purchased and it had to be a $200 light....bloody hell! Shipping from Australia is gonna drain my wallet..again...BUGGER!

Your light arrived DOA? Sorry to hear about that.. Do you know where the fault may be? Is the bulb look ok in inspection? Did you manage to check the battery cage and check the voltage using a volt meter.

It obviously boils down to either bulb, ballast, battery supply or switch.

Mohan, thank you very much for the alternate tracking sites. The first one I could not get to send me an email with the tracking detail but the 2nd one worked.

Here’s the chronology of my purchase:

Feb 15 – Order placed – EMS 4-7 day shipping chosen
Feb 20 – No shipping communication received - Email sent requesting shipping status - Light not shipped yet
Feb 21 – CN Replies to email that light can ship today, will take 4-7 days – Tracking # supplied - Light not shipped yet
Feb 22 – CN Replies – shipping email – says light shipped on the 17th – But Light did not ship on the 17th and not shipped yet
    Feb 23 – Group Buy/discount offered
Feb 23 – I post request for same discount offered to others
Feb 23 – CN replies to other posts after mine but no answer to my post – Light not shipped yet
Feb 24 – Still no reply to my discount request post so I post again and PM Ric requesting discount – Light ships today - 9 days from order and payment
Feb 25 – After my light ships, Ric PM’s me that I am not part of the GB so no discount. Offering of future discount on another purchase.
Feb 25 – I negatively reply that I won’t be buying any more nor recommending any of his products.
Feb 25 – I post my “gripe” post
Feb 28 – I email CN again about tracking number not working on EMS site.
Feb 29 – CN emails that EMS site tracking experiencing small error so try Speedpost .

Most all of the discounted lights shipped within 4-5 calendar days of ordering including a weekend so it really only took 2 business days to ship, not counting the day of order. It took 6 business days for mine to ship.

My light took 9 calendar days to ship and shipped after the GB was offered. Given the chronology of events, as a seller, what would you do with a discount request such as mine?

Holy smokes Bob, that's quite the run around. I'm amazed that even the GB lights took 4-5 days to ship although, my DHL tracking doesn't actually say it shipped yet. It just states, "Shipment Information Received" I don't know if that's a DHL issue where they haven't updated the status description or if the seller dragged tail getting the package to shipping. In any case, I guess I'm just used to sellers shipping within 12-36 hours, so I'm boggled as to why it would take 4-6 days just to get to the shipping company. At this point I'm just going to be happy to get a working light. I feel bad for you and Fusion m8.

Mine's been saying its in Hong Kong for a few days, now it says its leaving Hong Kong (DHL)....don't know if DHL uses those slow boats from China or not....

I'm hoping it leaves on a fast plane that lands in NJ this week.

    Hi Mohan,

I did the usual "isolate and troubleshoot" thingy like most RC hobby guys do, the battery pack reads 16.4v when the switch is on, and 2.2v when the switch is off. So that rules out a faulty switch and/or battery carrier. Each IMR cell was reading between 4.18-4.19v. The Trustfires were reading 4.17-4.18v each. I checked each individual spring contact in the battery carrier and none were bent out of shape or making poor contact. I then made sure that none of the batteries were inserted incorrectly. I checked, rechecked and then did it all again...5x.... I'm 99% sure its the ballast, the bulb flickers for 1-2 secs whenever the switch is clicked on. A visual inspection reveals no damage to it that I can see with a magnifying glass.

As of yet, no light, no PM, no E-Mail, and no notification on the list as to when my light might arrive.

7 days since order was placed, DHL tracking status shows "Shipment Picked Up" which just updated this evening. I feel better that things are now in DHL's hands since they're a known quantity/factor. With any luck I'll see it next week sometime. I'm kind of wondering why I spent $33 to expedite shipping if the seller was just going to sit on the order for a week. I hope I don't come across as one with unreasonable expectations but it might be helpful if Ric just stated right up front that it could take 7-10 days before the order was filled.

I was going by posts with members ordering dates and the post from CN that said lights were delivered to DHL but I guess that was not accurate. My sentiments exactly on paying the upgraded shipping only to have its' benefit dissolved in the time to get it to the carrier. I'm wondering being a new light, if he might be building them to order?

Probably not. Most of these lights don't run batteries in parallel unless they're stacked up like the longer ebay style lights. Run-time depends on the cells used.

    Ship From:
    SENSO ELECTRONIC TECH
    NO 507 LANGUANG
    BLDG B
    HONG KONG,
    HK

That's where the light came from according to DHL.

Mine's in Cincinnati this morning according to DHL's updates.

I got the notice it was sent for shipping on Tue 2/28 - Saying I should get it in around 4 days after that - so, 2/29, 3/1, 3/2, 3/3 = 4 days so far, if I get it on Monday or Tuesday next week (Today is Saturday), that would be ~ 5-6 shipping days total...with about the first three days spent in Hong Kong for whatever reason.

I figured a week, and its going to probably (So far), be about that, so I'm happy.

I should have my light shortly. And if it comes in as with the others, I would certainly say the shipping issues detract very little from the value proposition for the light itself in terms of price-performance.

You feed them from the head because they scrape from the tail side or because there is a problem with the length?

they won't fit from the tail.
    definitely will scrape it good.
from the head wiggle a bit and it will go in, although a very tight fit i must say. maybe i will put some lubrication.

    guess what?
the batteries doesn't fit after they are charged.
sat there for half an hour trying to fit them in.

so in a fit of anger, i threw all 4 cells away.

so thank you cnqualitygoods for selling a product which doesn't fit 18650 cells exactly.
and i spend around 140SGD on just batteries for your product.

i am not sure what i am going to do next, smash the light into little bits or buy batteries 1 last fricking time.

    click it, battle on!

Too bad you didn't just save them for another light?

IIRC, 18.5 mm or smaller is skinny enough to fit....so cells less than that should be safe.

Edited with 20/20 hindsight...18.5 mm is actually too fat to fit on my Scorpion

i can bet that those pink colour sanyo 2600mah li ion cells will fit with no problems.
because so far all those HID lights coming from china which uses 18650 will be using them.

    i didn't save them.
here i am having fever, coughing and bad cold and the bloody batteries don't fit!
either i go crazy or the cells go into the bin.
i figured since i am already crazy, the cells go into the bin.
