Gosh... that was a quick 10 people forming a line... Congrats - you can now hopefully save money.
How are you guys going to organise yourselves to order?
1.Individual orders -Are you going to each buy from the site and tell Ric that you are purchasing as a group? This could be the easiest option with no headache for an individual to coordinate.
2. Group single order - someone takes the lead and orders as a single order - makes one payment and has them shipped to the different addresses - 'drop shipping'
We need to get further info such as spares - I know we have been promised but as a group we can make sure spare bulbs or even a ballast will be made available. I get very obsessive with spares for HID's as they can be difficult to source if you don't know where to get the spares from. Thinking about it this torch is so cheap - it may be easier to buy another one. The spare bulb and ballast for the Jil Light Eznite worked out around $160 (ouch)

Excellent point. I'd like to procure a spare bulb with the purchase if at all possible.
I wouldn't mind running the buy. I've done substantial builds here in the past. I suppose that means making the order, receiving it, and parceling out the individual units.
If we decide to go that way, I can do it or if someone else would like to, that would be just peachy too.

That is a generous offer.
Having purchased the HID - I obviously cannot help by joining the list for the torch but I would like to take the oppertunity to buy a Bulb and ballast if possible when the group buy takes place - if you are going to be doing the 'leg work' can you help me with this.

I'll be #11 if that works.

That makes 11!
If any coordination needs to be made, Ginseng has certainly got my vote. However, I could see where shipping cost and time could increase if we do the middle man thing.
Ideally, the seller should just give us a discount code that expires at a pre-determined time, say 7 days. We use the discount code at check out and the group buy price is credited. If another group wants to get the group buy price after the date has expired, they can organize their own group buy. That way the seller benefits from getting these lights into as many has as possible without lowering the price for anyone who didn't take the first leap.
Regarding spares, the seller might organize the page so that group buyers can simply click on the additional items they want, bulb, carrier, etc.
Any other thoughts guys?
Count me in for a GB
If the GB was 1 week earlier, I'd be so in it! I had to pull the trigger 3 days ago together with EMS shipping so that the light makes it here in time(hopefully) for my CPF meet on 24th March. I'm $30 worse off...nnnnnnoooooooooo!!!!!!![]()

www.cnqualitygoods.com --LED Flashlights;Hid Flashlights;OEM Flashlights……We offer wholesale price for all our products!
Hi RIC,
Thank you for that generous offer. May I ask two questions?
1. Can we purchase replacement bulbs and spare battery carriers? If yes, how, and how much?
2. What would be the unit cost and how much would shipping be if one person in the United States purchased 11 units to go to one address?
Thank you,
Wilkey

I would like to climb on the group buy if possible. Oops look like I might have missed it so I will place my order directly, looks like I will be number 12 or so.

I just ordered one following the directions posted and he sent me a Paypal bill with the price reduction so I am all paid up. Thanks everyone for working on the group buy and saving me a little money! My total shipped was $177.50 And I took the number 12 spot.
Guys,
I will start a group buy thread this evening. If you all can wait a day to order, we can see how much of a savings we can get. Of course, you are free to go uour own way. There will be power in numbers.
Wilkey
I got the shipping quote from CN. Savings are substantial.
Wilkey
Ric, I forgot to note that I want the 4300k. Thanks!

Wilkey,
Should you decide to act as a specific coordinator for the group buy....if you are receiving orders for those who live in the USA, the supplier will probably ship everything in (1) box, which will save on international shipping costs for everyone. You will then have to break down the shipment and reship them out to the CPF folks. You'll incur additional shipping material costs to repackage the lights individually along with domestic shipping costs to various zipcodes across the USA. You'll have to figure an additional "general" upcharge to handle these expenses. There is also a chance where someone may receive a light that is "damaged" somehow, where the Buyer may approach you for consideration. Also, is someone orders an extra bulb or replacement lens with the light, if they do not receive it, they again may approach you versus the Seller for consideration.
Not trying to poopoo the party, just sharing awareness when coordinating group buys and what dynamics can be involved.
I might get in on the GB too. I'll wait to see how it evolves over the next day or two.

Ric, Any chance of those who already bought one within the last week or so getting one of the 20 slots and getting a $30.00 credit back to PayPal?
G.E. 1942A WWII 60" Anti Aircraft Carbon Arc (Sold), 1KW Marconi Radar Sys Short Arcs, 1KW VSS-3a Tank Light, 600 Watt M-134 Gatling Gun Short Arc, 175 Watt Megaray, 300 Watt "Locator's", 150 Watt Short Arc Communicator, Maxabeam 12MCP, LarryK14@52V
Frankly - if someone just entered 10 or more, the site will sell them for $145 each, not $150 each.
Shipping for 10 is not 10x the shipping for one either, etc.
Paying $150 each, which defrays the cost of shipping to the guy who ordered the 10+ lights is fair though.
The Group Buy thread is open HERE!
Go get 'em, guys!
Wilkey
Paypal sent.
