Single mode, possibly in the future if there is enough demand...
@ Draven451, the mode sequence is High, Medium, Low and this can't be changed.
Thanks!![]()

What are the chances of releasing a model capable of supporting two x rechargeable Li cells??? (i.e. 2 x 18650, 2 x 16340 etc)

oooh I like the Hi-Med-Low UI. i might just have to get one in Neutral. i have a P2X Fury on backorder .. but I just might have to cancel. I'm liking the H/M/L better than the Low/High on the Fury.
Very nice looking dropin!
Reckon I shall have to pick one up soon
(thread bookmarked for reference)
I'd be interested in a single mode as well!
Do you have tint details of the T4? Thanks

I honestly feel the XP-G and XM-L don't need OP reflectors since they don't have the same physical design as an XR-E...like Luxeons and Seoul P4s, their beams are fantastic with smooth reflectors. Also, since the XM-L is already going to be floody in a small reflector like this, again I honestly don't see the need for an OP reflector. So my preference would be for either a smooth reflector version or even a focused TIR version just to be unique.
I get why 1.5A was decided for the consistent output...but to me it just seems a waste not having an option to go all out or a turbo mode. Just thinking since you have multimode capability, why not max out with higher output in the a turbo mode. Something like a 25%-50%-100% setup maxing out at 3A...so in medium would still be 1.5A and get the results you've posted generally. Anyway, just my 2 cents on this dropin. I'm tempted but @ $40, I'm looking for something like what a Xeno G10v2 does.
HCRI tint in the 7A band would be nice. Waiting for a regulated 2 X li-ion rechargables. Need the long run-time of 2 X 18650s for EMS & fire.
Also like the above suggestions. SMO reflector seems like a natural for the XM-L. I have an OP & diffuser on an MCE=great flood, limited throw. But I want both in one light, of course!
We went with an OP reflector to give a perfect beam with no artifacts. Some people are quite picky when it comes to what the beam looks like on a white wall, and SMO reflectors were tested and there is a bit of artifacting and some rings etc.
1.5A was not decided on for constant output, but for overall reliability and durability of the product. There are a number of people who make DIY drop-ins out there that offer 3-4A+ XML's, however there is a high chance that the LED will burn out after an hour of runtime or less in a stock Surefire 6p or C2 if the flashlight is left unattended with no fan or wind blowing on it etc. There is just no way the flashlight has the thermal capability to cope with a 10-12W load. Not to mention even after 10-15 minutes in normal cases the output will sag to 70% of the original output (due to the LED's Tj being in the 120+C range), and you may even see some tint shift. There is also no way you'd be able to hold the light without gloves after 30 minutes :P. Even the 1.5A drop-in reaches almost 46-47C @ the flashlight head after about an hour. Of course it's not going to get this hot if you are holding it and drawing heat away from the light, but you get the idea.
Here is a picture of an XM-L that burned inside a 6p with a "generic P60 style drop-in" after about an hour of runtime. The current was about 2A.
The Xeno G10v2 which I sell is a nice light. It also has a 1.5A driver, but has a slightly larger SMO reflector. The beam is really good, but not as perfect as the X60L's OP reflector.
In the future if I have access to quality affordable drivers with thermal regulation or drivers that auto step down from High to medium, then I would consider offering a higher current drop in. But the reality is running high currents in a P60 drop in for long periods of time is asking for trouble.

Yeah I get people are picky...though I was thinking a domed LED in a smooth reflector, while not a perfect beam is still reasonably smooth and again I think with the floody nature of an XM-L in a small reflector that you get the effect of a floody beam already. To me the ultimate standard for ugly beams is any flashlight that has an XR-E in it...so to those who are picky about artifacted ring beams, all you need to do is ask yourself: "is this beam better than what an XR-E produces?" Hehe just my joking take on that.
I didn't realize the G10v2 is only 1.5A, when I compare mines to other P60 XM-L based flashlights I got, it looks just as bright...so maybe it has alot to do with the deeper reflectors in Xeno's pseudo P60 flashlights. I'm kinda of bummed they didn't make their flashlights completely Surefire C/P format thread compatible other than the bezel rings...would've been nice to lego a Xeno parts with the likes of Surefires and Solarforces.
Nice to see someone in agreement with me; I've also been tempted by these ever since there were announced. But same as you, it's the price-point that's holding me back; for $40, I want more output, or at the very least the choice between smooth or OP. For now I'll pass though, unless there's a price drop or some kind of a sale.
I'd rather have a flashlight in front of me than a "frontal-flashlightomy"!
Guys, you will not find a better drop in module anywhere than this one for $40.00. Just my 2 cents worth.
This makes me wonder how many people are super picky about artifacts and rings in beams, are a little picky but can accept some or not picky at all. I tend to put myself in the middle category leaning towards the not picky at all side. As I brought it up before that I tend to have a line where I draw where if something is better than, I can accept it. For LED flashlight beams, I tend to put the XR-E in any reflector (smooth or textured) as that. Also like you I tend to prefer smooth reflectors as I like to reflect every bit of the light forward and out rather than have it diffused by texture. For this dropin, I like just about everything about it other than the reflector and the drive level. I get as a small business, sometimes you have to make choices and just pick one thing to go with...just in a world where people are used to having options, I still think it would be a great idea for a quality dropin like this one to have a few options to be able to choose from. As is in the single configuration available, I too will probably wait for a coupon or sale.
When I have to factor in sales tax and shipping, will probably be closer to $50 for me since I live in California...but I wouldn't doubt the quality is great on this one.
Jason,
Couldn't resist not to order another X60L, Neutral White T5 this time. Paypal is already sent. Keep up the good work.
I see some people are looking for variations of the module but current LOP reflector, fairly deep gives beautiful beam and good throw, no memory turns it on on High all the time therefore beats single mode - what's not to like... Great choice for starting offer... until next time...
When will the warm whites be back in stock? I also have a neutral inbound...
Anyone have any host preferences for these that fit particularly well? I was thinking Solarforce L2P 2011.
I think I need one of these for my poor 6P that is drop-in-less.![]()
Indoor shots for all levels added to Part 1. Review forthcoming but thus far, very impressed. Super smooth beam, measured High output at approx. 450 lux (lumens) on homemade device. Near perfect tabletop regulation after slight initial drop.

Secondly Good news everyone, I should have a small number of X60L drop-ins hopefully next week in the 1-mode flavor.![]()
Offering these in single mode is good news indeed!
These drop-in seem really nice I’m gonna have to pick up one (maybe a couple) when funds allow. For the price vs. the performance you're getting you can’t loose.
Perfect for those who like the M91 but prefer to carry a two cell body light and use a single 18650 battery while still getting full output rather than carrying a three cell light with multiple batteries.
The finish and specs on these seem to be similar and right up there with higher price drop-in. Like single piece aluminum construction, thermally potted, being able to use both rechargeable and primary batteries, and reverse polarity protection all features FTW.
Thanks for offering these at an awesome price!

I'll take one of the new EDC+ single mode NW when available. PM me with payment details. Thanks!
They look nice, but they're not L-M-H. I just can't do H-M-L.
