damn I missed the promotion for this one... I'm more keen for the AA version anyway. Any idea the specs and when the AA version comes out?

There doesn't seem to be any practical way to remove the bezel, it is completely smooth with nothing to stick to. Of course, one of the prototype pics was without a bezel and glass, and Xyber stated that even the led is easy to change. So, it is possible, I guess we just have to wait to see.

Hope bike mounts are good for different DIY projects. But I am a bit skeptic whether the (probably pretty short) M4 threads would be sturdy enough for the application. The beam is very floody and I think the light would be good for only mountain biking, which is a rough sport for goods. So, I would probably use something else (like the Hope mount with a little plastic plate or bar fixed to it a and a pair of cable ties to attach the light). It would be sturdy, and even if I fall down and something breaks, it won't be the end cap of the light. That said, I believe that SD6 in handlebar and ST6 in helmet might be a very good combination for MTB.

yeh I agree, but I'm going to try it out with an m4 bolt first. I think it may be stronger than you think. and the plastic bar mount would flex in a crash any way.

xyber how long will the quicker shipping take?

Will you provide an alternate battery cover to owners of your Sx 460NW headlamps so we can reap these benefits? These are some very cool features!

You may be right.. And I mixed up a few different products, remembering that the mount was made of aluminum. I don't own one but I may be making some DIY bike lights with a friend, and Hope mounts are good candidates for it, too.

Do you sell the silicone fastening parts as accessory? Could I get 2-3 extra (for some extra $ which I could paypal right away; as far as I know the lights have not been shipped yet). I just figured out that I could attach them to (for example) backpack straps or belts and have more carrying options.

Hi, Esko, that can be done. Just let me know which type you need, the one for ST6 or for SD6. Actually I can show you how to DIY a very powerful headlamp, gonna post a picture of the stuff I made.

Great! I was thinking more of SD6, because it is very floody and doesn't need to be aimed very precisely. But actually, one for ST6 would be nice, too. I may very well come up with something.

DIY version sounds interesting. Looking forward to see what you have done.

I don't know somehow, I can't post any pictures here. Just describing now, I use 3 silicone holders(on one headband) to mount 2*SL6-800CW on the side of the headband, and one ST6-500CW on the forehead. Which is outstandlingly brighter!!

Spankone: The delay is due to the pocket clips, they have some work left to be done

Nice! I guess this was a rather obvious solution, since we were talking about extra holders and you told about a very powerful DIY version. 2000+ lumens without a separate battery pack, and I believe the headband is well balanced, too. Sounds like someone could offer some combination deals!

What I am thinking is attaching SD6 to backpack shoulder strap (or something similar) and use ST6 as a headlamp. SD6 would light everything with ambient light, and ST6 would give brighter light where it is needed. Together they would also throw some light shadows thus enabling better depth perception. Another possibility (for some orienteering/rogaining related sports) would be having SD6 on some of the lower levels for map reading, while using ST6 on high for navigation. Interesting to see how they work out.

Is this for Eneloop's (2000 mah nimh) or some other type of AA? If it's for Eneloop's, that'd be outstanding.

I probably forgot, but is the beam pattern pure flood, flood+spot, pure spot?

    Thanks Xyber.

What is the diameter and length?

I originally liked the idea of the 1xAA, but that really limits how much juice you have to work with... THis 2xAA is growing on me!

THere might be some miss-understanding, I meant it is electrically serial connected. Please check the main post for other pictures.
