Talking Just got my EDC XM-L

What a great light!! It feels so solid (like holding a thick piece of re-bar) - A Flashlight is not a weapon, comments removed - Norm For all of you that buy cheep Chinese lights, buy one of these and you will see the difference. This is what American craftsmanship is all about. Great beam as well. Two critiques - 1 - I would love a lanyard or clip option (I did use a large sf lanyard ring designed for an sf m6 and it does the job) - 2- I would love a second low mode. That being said, its a top quality light at a great price point. The accent on the tail cap is really nice. Great Job !!!!!!!!

How long did you have to wait, I'm at three weeks waiting for mine.

I've got all the parts, just putting them together and takin' a bit longer than expected. I'm pretty sure I'm shipping yours today, but you can email me and I'll tell you for sure.

I'm just about caught up and then there will not be delay's in shipping the EDC-XML.

Three things appear obvious to me; I am naive, there are more than one EDC XM-L, Electrolumens is a very responsive manufacturer of fine lights. I apologize for having misused your time. You see, I have been waiting weeks to receive an EDC XM-L from another manufacturer, but I was to naive to imagine that I could have been on the wrong thread. I guess that is part of why no one else is tapping away on smart phones while on treadmills at my gym. I shall endeavor to be more attentive in the future and both thank you for the speed of your response and apologize for my negligence.

I wonder what folks could share about their experiences with Elektrolumens EDC? I think the last version was MC-E but it will be basically the same flashlight but with XM-L and a 6 degree (narrower) hotspot. It will be driven between 3-4 amps with single 18560 and I believe it is single mode twisty with momentary on button.

It sounds blazin and is supposed to be heatsinked well enough for extended use.

u got it can tell me about their past experience with the MC-E version of this product? I don't think anybody has the XM-L model yet. It sounds tempting to me.................

    Aryanna,

We have two EDC MC-E's. Wayne continually evolved the inner workings of his EDC, with our 2nd light being his last version. It's a well constructed, bulletproof light with a bright, extremely useful beam. You may consider putting some Arctic Silver between the heatsink & the body to help wick heat away from the led. I did, & our light warms quickly all the way down, while maintaining it's perfect beam.
Regardless of which lights we take out for spotting, wowing, etc., we ALWAYS take the EDC-MCE because it's the light that works best when we're done playing... & just need a flashlight.
Hope that helps. Best of luck!

The EDC-XML has a much farther throwing beam than the EDC-MCE.

How much of a noticeable brightness difference would the XM-L EDC have compared to a 200 lumen flashlight (say, the E2DL)?

I just got mine today and Wow! It's the brightest light I own, by far. It is even brighter than my P7 Maglite. And talk about craftsmanship, this thing is a vault. Well built, excellent grade aluminum, and the threads are incredibly smooth as if they were mounted in ball bearings! And Wayne's customer service is the best also. Great light!

Huge difference. The EDC-XML is about 5 times brighter.

The EDC-XML is a real screamer. It is the brightest single cell 18650 light I have.

I agree the EDC-XML is a solid light, nice and simple and very bright.

However, there is nothing about being "American craftsmanship" that makes it so, it just is. Similarly, there is nothing "cheep" [sic] about all Chinese lights. The Thrunite Catapult for example, has body walls just as thick as any Elektrolumens, uses high grade 7075 aluminium and is generally a very sturdy light. Oh and it is Chinese through and through.
