My last neutral was an old Quark with a Q3 5A LED (is that correct?). I love the tint of that thing but there are better performing LEDs out now. I lost a different Quark (QAA) with an R2 and can't wait to replace it with a neutral XM-L Neutron 1A. Anyone able to comment the older neutral LEDs compared to this batch of neutral tinted XM-L's?

My neutral Neutron is very similar to my neutral Quark mini. Maybe a bit more yellow - visible when looking at beams side by side or on a white wall. Outdoors they are almost identical. I wouldn't be able to spot the difference if I saw them one after another. I'm very happy with the tint.

Here is a quick comparision between neutral Neutron 2A, Quark AA mini and Xeno E03. Exposure adjusted so the brightness would be the same, white balance set to daylight and these are crops from the center of the beams:

Interestingly the camera sees the Neutron as less yellow than the other two.

    Edit - added beamshots

I've purchased neutral Catapult from hkequipment and they say that it's out of stock now.
ThruNite, can you say when it will be available?

Update: my Catapult has been shipped today.

Thrunite, thank you for making these neutral white versions available. I already had a cool white XM-L V2 Catapult and also a cool white Neutron 1A. I like these neutral versions so much more because of this great tint. You did a very nice job with these. I will now be selling the cool white versions I have since these are so much more pleasing in tint to me. Oh, for those who want to know, I have bought all my Thrunite lights through GoingGear. Thanks again!

I'm still looking for Thrunite to release neutral white P60 XM-L drop ins. Are they still planning on doing that? Anyone know?
The Phaser: A nice EDC with great throw; heat and runtime can be issues.

    Best Diffusion Film!

    ThruNite,

I tested my Neutral Catapult and it has color temperature 3000K, which is not Neutral White, but WARM white. Neutral should be around 4500K. What color bin you are using for your neutral light?

I need a real neutral light, can you replace flashlight head with true 4500K color temperature?

since now, we can not get the detailed Bin for the lights. just warm version from 2700-5000K !

and limited. we think we'll stop neutral version production.

    Thanks and Best Regards

Hi Thrunite. How much does a head component or drop-in of a neutron 1A neutral/warm XML cost?

Thrunite, your "neutral" tint is not neutral. I just picked up a new Neutron 2AA neutral but it is nowhere near neutral - it is VERY warm. I pretty much only buy neutral lights and I own Malkoff, Zebralight, 4sevens, Dereelight, Fenix, and many other neutral tinted lights. Your "neutral" makes all my other neutrals look cool because yours is so warm. If I wanted a warm tinted light, I would not have ordered neutral. yuck. Knowing many of my neutral tinted lights are in the 5x range of tint bins, I would guess my Neutron is in the 7x range on tint bins which is not neutral (I would guess my Neutron is a 7c tint which is NOT neutral) .

Could you tell me 4500k-5000k is Ok?

Yes, 4500k is great. 5000k is ok but a bit cool. 4000k is good too.

It looks like my current Neutron neutral is about 3000k which is not a neutral tint. 3000k is warm.

Haha, just found out I have to pay shipping BOTH ways to exchange these ugly neutrals. Don't risk it. Only buy the neutral if you want yellowish beam. I'm a little disappointed in Going Gear now. It would have been cheaper to just get a refund, then buy cool whites. Then my shipping would have been covered, lol.

And what about replacement? I want 4000-5000K light, or regular cool white if you can't guarantee the temperature of your neutrals.

I'd love a neutral Scorpion, but no one seems to have one. Any more coming?

Just a suggestion here, if you own a thrunite catapult v3 with the cool white led, you can desolder it and replace it with a neutral one on your own. The led is mounted on a 20mm star, and there are 2 wires soldered to it. All you have to do is use a soldering iron and remove the old led then order a replacement from cutter or any other led distributor and solder the wires back. It's a relatively simple mod.

    Hi.
I would also be interested in a Neutral white Neutron (1AA or 2AA). Or could I buy a 1C and a separate body, and screw the head onto it?
    Thanks
