I'd like to see a 1XAA or 1XRCR123 compact headlamp in neutral (why not an extender so one lamp could take both?). Not enough neutral headlamps on the market!
[Edit]: Forgot to add: with a low-low accessible from the start![]()

I'm not afraid of the dark, I love it. I just need to see where the heck I'm going so I can get there... and play with my other flashlights.
After being bitten by the Lumen bug a few months ago, I bought several 4sevens and fenix lights. I have been very impressed by my quarks and their white light, but I passed up the opportunity to buy neutral white flashlights because I had not been educated. I saw their lower Lumen rating and thought that neutrals were just for people who weren't accustomed to true white LEDs. "Many people like flashlights that have "that" orange/yellow tint just because they're used to it," I thought to myself. It wasn't until I was in my house comparing my Quark 123^2 and my surfire Executive defender (incan) that "I saw the light". I was pointing both lights at my calico colored rug and noticed that the brown colors showed much more vibrant with my E2D vs. my Quark. Later, I began to notice that all colors exept blues, whites, and some greens looked washed out with every single one of my newly aquired "cool white" flashlights. Next I did some research and found out the merrits of a neutral white LED. By then it was too late to get a neutral white quark, so I settled for a couple other light manufacurers. My oh my am I hooked on neutrals now!!! Cool White LED...Never again!
4sevens, I am extremely impressed with your lights, but I, as an un-educated consumer, would have liked to have seen more specs and info about your various offerings (S2, R5, Neutral, Warm etc.). I think that you would sell more "Neutral" white LEDs if you supplied beamshots (with color rendition comparisons) and educated the non-expert on the differences between the two offerings. In a page about one light, offer information about other options. For instance, when I am reading about the specs about a high Lumen S2, say something like "We also have available a neutral white version of this light which offers a natural/vibrant color rendition making outdoor scenery stand out, click here."
As it is, I have already bought lights from other manufacturers becuase of their neutral offering. I'm searching for a Neutral thrower now too and would buy it today if it were made by 4sevens!
Please make neutrals a maintstay (even if only replacement low and high voltage quark heads)!
I would really like a turbo aa neutral. Also, a preon Ti neutral. That, and the rest of the line. Good to hear that the s12 is somewhat neutral.
Here is an old post comparing different LED tints using a standard color checker panel. I keep coming back to this one (credit to eddyg the original poster):

Yet another vote for more neutrals! I am really only interested in neutral/warm lights at this point and would love to see another release of neutrals in the Quark series and Preon as well.
I would buy a neutral or high CRI preon without any hesitation if they'd make one.

Thanks for the warm welcome.![]()
What tint bins were used on the 4Sevens XP-G R4 Neutral lights? This used to be posted but all the limited model info has been pulled off the site.
I like this tint. I picked up a couple other brand lights with "neutral" 3D tint which is a lot whiter with a hint of blue, and while it is still pretty nice and probably more "neutral" I prefer the warmer tint that 4Sevens used.

The tint is 4C or D0 (they never said exactly which one it was). I agree this is my favorite tint so far. I found the XP-E Q3 5B much too warm.
While on the other hand, I find the 5A and 5B not warm enough. I'm one of the 7B warm MiNi fans and really like my 6B Draco.

Just joined recently and found this thread. Can anyone tell me how often neutral tints come up for sale on 4sevens?
I've been out of the market for quite a long time and looking to get back in and have really been interested in getting a neutral tint. I currently have a P2Dce Q5 and never liked the cool white tint.
@heavyled
The neutral Quarks were a limited run put out right when neutral/warm XP-G emitters hit the market. You might get your wish of more neutrals, though I think we've seen the last of the warm lights.
The last neutral 4sevens light was the Preon Revo SS - also a limited run.
It seems that neutral and warm lights are slowly catching on. I've noticed that more manufacturers are offering them as options. As they increase in popularity, hopefully it will be cost effective for 4Sevens to off more soon.
People buy cold led lights simply because that is what is being offered. In the beginning only cold CFLs were offered while warm seems to have won in popularity recently - I only wished they would have settled with a neutral ~4500k tint though... Let's hope the temporary shortage of S2/S3 sparks an opportunity to offer neutral R5s.
There is a thread on here for a preorder of a AAA light and if you look at the interest list, you'll see what a large percentage (majority actually) want a neutral over a cool tint.
I don't believe the "one out of a hundred" BS. Granted, we are an informed group of enthusiasts, but I can't believe that the amount of sales from CPF are so small of a percentage for these retailers/small manufacturers that our preferences don't shift the sales at all. If it is such a small percentage of their sales then it isn't worth their time to even try to market here when we trend against the preferences of the masses.
I've decided to give my money to companies who make lights with tints that I prefer. Pretty simple concept, I know.![]()

I just recently purchased a SC51w. I'm impressed with it, but I would have rather had a neutral Preon.
That got me wondering: how many people are buying Zebralights/Xenos/Whatever just because neutral emitters are available when they'd rather be buying a 4sevens light?
Is it worth creating a poll to try and demonstrate to 4sevens how many sales they're losing because they won't make neutral lights a standard offering? Seems like worst case, it would confirm or refute that we really are an insignificant portion of the market.

I think it has been a design quest of 4 Sevens to aquire only the very best, AND most effiecient LEDs that are available to the market. My prediction is, we will see a MiniX123 NW. All the tooling is in place for that model and led die, what ya think?
I think that would be great. I wish 4sevens would put a XM-L NW LED in their quark line especially the quark AA (which is my EDC.) I have been tempted to buy a few of the new thrunite lights since they have the XM-L led in them, but am holding out to see what 4sevens does in the near future regarding upgrading the quarks.
Yeah, first a company would have to release a neutral first, give it 6 months and then release the cool to compare. I don't think this has been done, so a real life test has never been attempted. Skip the hypothetical and give it a real go.![]()

I think 4Sevens needs to go beyond neutral and put together some regular Quarks in High CRI XP-G emitters. They're on Cree's site, don't know what kind of volumes are available. The Regular and Tactical UIs are great, there's plenty of lumens in 123 or 2xAA format. Please, I want great color!
My wallet only opens for warm tints ...
