    Hey Ricky/Lumapower,

Any chance you're going to make any modifications to improve the beam quality? The Trust 1 sounds like a great EDC light, but a bunch of folks seem to be complaining about rings in the beam.

And when's your next shipment to the United States? Battery Junction seems to backordered on the Trust 1.

The beam is a bit ringy but is not a problem in use. It's not a "horrible" beam by any means, but is just not as smooth as one would expect with an XP-G emitter and OP reflector.

The rings are faint and only visible against a white wall.

    Agreed. IMHO, it's a better profile than LD10+ or RRT-0 R5 / SMO.

I agree as well. I was expecting much worse given all the negative comments posted about the beam but I don't think the beam is bad at all. The beam is still better than most of my R2 lights with OP reflectors. This is a great EDC light, especially given the cost! I like it as much as my D10 R2. However, as others have stated, you need to use a 14500 if you want the max brightness out of this light and using a 14500 is substantially brighter over a primary AA.

I personally have not seen any TRUST output any more ringy than most other lights ...
as previously pointed out - when white walling you'll see all kinds of things from any light unless you put a diffuser on it, or increase reflector texture to smooth out the beam.
in actual practical use - it's difficult to see any rings.

TIP 1: a smoother less ringy beam also means a less throwy one.

TIP 2: - the pill and reflector can be adjusted a little for personal preference.
I start by unscrewing the pill from the head using o-ring pliers or tweezers etc, then I make sure the reflector is screwed in snug tight in the head.
Then reinsert the pill - and with trial and error adjust/focus the pill with the reflector for a more desired output?

    Cheers

This is a nice looking light. Anyone have a feeling how they compare quality-wise to a 4Sevens Quark?

Any plans to work on the reflector to eliminate the rings?

    Hi recDNA,

    Under consideration.
To diffuse the rings, may diffuse the hotspot at the same time.

Many people have stated that you only see rings when very close to white wall. Doesn't sound like much of an issue during real use.

That's the case, rings are not visible during normal use.

    Hi Ricky,
How to use the "2-way removable pocket clip lets you carry it bezel up or down"
I swapped the tailcap & head section , i can only get low mode on "bezel up" but "bezel down" all UI works.

Sounds like one end of the threading is too short on your battery tube. It could be a prblem linked to the clip and retianing ring or perhaps a mcining issue where the battery tube is too short on one end.

ARe you using 14500? Does this happen when using a normal nimh battery?

I have just done the test on mine. I got the same behavior with an AW 14500 and a NiMH: bezel down all normal, bezel up three levels but no turbo and no lock-out.

Definitely there is something odd but personally I don't care about the clip so no problem for me.

    Hi nanotech17, Kilovolt

It should be the Lens' o-ring squeeze to too much.
Simply release the LED module, and then loose the reflector a bit.
Restore the LED module and it done.

If you need larger size o-ring, please contact me at info@lumapower.com

In the bezel down configuration I can lock out the light very easily. It is just if I reverse the body that it becomes impossible.

As I said above I am not interested in the clip so I am happy with the light as it is and I am not going to search for a solution.

Just want to give a big thanks to Ricky for helping me out with my Trust 1! Great customer service so far.......

I have been using my Trust for about a week with normal AA's. Everything was working fine, and I've been really impressed with the light. With a standard AA it's almost as bright as my Zebralight SC51. I really didn't expect it to be that bright on a standard AA. I love the size too...perfect for my front pocket, and easy to hold. My only gripe is that it needs to come with a neck lanyard, or even a wrist strap.

Unfortunately I had some issues when trying it with 14500's for the first time last night. It worked great for about a minute, but the third time that I went to turn it on - nothing. It wo't work with standard AA's now either. This is my first experience with 14500's and I'm wondering if mine were too long, and maybe caused some damage??? That's the only thing that I can think of since they all seem to be different lengths. I ordered some of the grey UltraFire's, as they were the shortest protected cells that I could find. The specs said 50mm, but it turns out that didn't include the button......so they're more like 52mm. What are you guys using for 14500's? I would like to order some different cells just in case that was the issue. I would like it to have everything ready to go for when I get it back.......I'm already sick of waiting to get this bad boy up and running!!

Thanks for the help everyone, and thanks again Ricky!

    Greg
