Hey Ricky - If you upgrade the Encore with these features I am definately in. I have been waiting patiently for the smallest 18650 light with these features for years. This is what the Encore needs. I have some 18650 cells and a Pila charger just waiting.

I think people do not realize how compact the Encore is for a 18650 light. It is one of the best compact 18650 lights out there.

U da MAN! It would also be a bonus if you either included or offer the choice of the optic or reflector. Can't wait - gonna go charge my cells now.

    Ricky,

I've just ordered one today. One question, does the beam of these light have rings on it just like the LE or cpf edition? Or the beam of this regular version have been smoothed out?

    Thanks.

As I have the CPF edition which uses the same LED and driver (I guess) I can confirm that this is indeed a very nice light. The beam is very soft and quite floody. The max mode is very bright too - at the cost of 36min runtime in this mode, but who uses this kind of 4-mode light on max only anyway.

I've been EDCing this for a week or so now and I have no complaints other than the clip!

Why can't you make a clip that isn't rubbish for such a great little light?!

The low is definitely low enough to creep around at night with and the high really packs a punch - enough to be shouted at by peeps who look in to it

Overall, great light. Mine went straight on to the lanyard fitting.

I see battery junction has these on back order.
I assume you have these available, and what is the ship time to the USA - NYC

    Thanks.

Are the AW R123A's the best batteries to use in this light regarding output in comparison to the CR123A's?
I see that on High, the output is 160 lumens with CR's and 370 lumens with the RCR's, if I read the description correctly.
Batteryjunction has the V3 for less, and they're domestic, so shipping would be quicker, but No Stock.

I am in the UK so ordering direct was the cheaper option for me.
As for the batteries I have 2 friends who have this light and both are using the AW RCR123's. I think the output is around 350 lumens on the AW's and around 160 on the normal cr123's.

This light sounds like the best single 123A available regarding output. And the style & construction look and sound very good. Wonder if the clip issue has been fixed?

Not a single post from Ricky since the end of July leads me to believe that they have no interest in addressing the clip issue and that any of us considering buying an Incendio will have to live with it or put it on a lanyard instead of using the afterthough clip.

No, just wait another week or so, the other thread about Incendio upgrades seems to indicate a much improved clip...

Does this mean I should hold off before ordering, or if I order now, will the improved clip (if available) be made available to me?
For that matter, should I just hold off until the version with the improvements are made available?

That I don't know at all...

I should also say, it is possble the new clip is only for the 18650 body, and not the actual light, I didn't ask that specifically. I'd better ask that!

    Hi friends,

The new pocket-clip refer to GT-kit is done for I-65 only.

If you are asking the new pocketclip for IncenDio, it means a new construction.

So, please follow the IncenDio's thread for more update.

While we are on the subject of the V3, I just purchased a used Incendio V3 R5. It is the 2010 CPF limited edition. I cannot find any information regarding output and runtimes. There was a suggestion that it might be 220 lumens on a CR123 battery, but I do not feel it is nearly this powerful. I am not complaining about it. I love the light. I would just like to know what the output and runtimes are on the 4 levels.

    Hi TwinBlade,

The IncenDio V3 (XP-G R5)'s output and runtime info.:

    1. The max. forward current with primary 123A is 450~480mA.
    - So you may refer to Cree's spec. for emitter output. (around 190)

    2. 4 levels as 100%, 40%, 15% and 5%.
With max. out : power drive from battery around 1.9W.
Consider 1300mAh CR123A at 3V (fresh), the battery cap. around 3.5Wh
Runtime = battery cap / power consumption and close to 110 minutes.
    - The overall runtime depends on many factors.
    - Since continous run the CR123A will cause internal resistance rising very fast and this will shorten the runtime.

    Best regards,

Ricky, thank you for your prompt reply. I appreciate the information.

I really like this light. It is on par with the output of my Quark Mini 123, although it has a little more room lighting flood.

    The rear clicky is FANTASTIC!

Using the R123's makes the light even more powerful
I have not received the light yet, but am looking foward to it.
