AWESOME! Bringing your E1e up to date with the most current emitters.

Quick question, these drop right in correct? Also any plans on making one for the E2e?

Yup, they are "drop-ins" Just remove the old incan bulb assembly and slide this one in.
Working on the E2e space/driver requirements are a little more difficult with the 2 cell model.
Edit: This module also fits SF E2e but can only support one 17670 li ion.

    Orders received!
I have been informed by the post office that shipments to Europe are suspended for approximately 1 week. For those of you located in Europe, please expect a slight delay in shipping. I will get them out as soon as the air clears up a little.

Beamshots on the way. I was going to do a comparison between the incan and LED versions, but my bulb just blew for some reason.... I'll compare against the QAA, 2XT and the 3XT.

    1. How do you switch modes, soft press the clicky?

    2. What tint bin is the neutral option?

    3. Was the Quark AA in those beamshots on High or Turbo mode?

    4. Is there any chance of getting a driver with different outputs, for example a 1a, 100ma, and 10ma ?

    1. Soft press for less than 0.5 seconds to switch modes. The short time-on to remember modes is to avoid having the light switch modes when using the light in short bursts.

    2. Neutral tint is 5B1.

    3. Quark AA was on turbo.

    4. Sorry, no. We don't have the ability to reprogram the driver at this time.

Very nice. Any plans for a single mode version and a heat sink without the ribs to maximize thermal mass?

Not really sure at this point if there will be more runs.
There isn't exactly a large number of E1e owners.

Nice! The beam looks very similar to that of the Rebel towers koala and yclo made years ago - a very good thing - and I love the additional mass in your design. (I, too, question the fins though. There's no air circulating to dissipate to.) Regardless, I'm psyched to see another LED drop-in for the E1*/E2*.

I'd be surprised is there aren't more E1e's in circulation that every LiteFlux model combined. (Nothing against LiteFlux, just throwing that out as an example.) The E1e was for sale for over ten years. And I imagine for every E1e (and other 1-cell variants) out there, there's probably three or four (or more) 2-cell models. I don't know if there's enough interest on CPF to warrant further runs, but there's no shortage of E1*/E2* owners out there. Unfortunately, most of them aren't on CPF.

Approximately how many out-the-front lumens is the low mode? I'm thinking like 20ish...

    +1

I am also curious about the approximate runtime and OTF lumens in each mode

Ditto this! Single mode would also be a nice option, but it would also be great if the driver is simple to remove and change. Compatibility with the Sandwiche Shoppe drivers would be a nice touch.

I was curious about all the extra material on the heat sink compared to the Surefire bulbs and the drop-ins that have been made previously - especially considering the number of variations in reflectors we've discussed in other threads. I wondered if there might be some interference with the underside of the reflectors on some bezels. But, I just dug every bezel I could find (6) out of my parts bins, and the undersides of the reflectors look really consistent. I don't have an accurate depth gauge handy, but if there's any variance, it doesn't appear to be much.

A couple of posters have alluded to this, but it's worth mentioning (and even emphasizing) if building more of these drop-in is being considered... the majority of E-series incans sold have momentary/twisty tail caps, which are a little awkward with multi-mode drivers. IIRC, the only E-series incans that ever shipped with clickies were the E2D and the M600B Scoutlight. Swapping a McClicky into the momentary/twisty Z52 is always an options, as is swapping the Z52 for a Z57, McTC, etc. But, I imagine there's plenty of E-series incan owners who would love an easy LED upgrade but want to keep the momentary/twisty switch as is.

All that said, I'm thrilled to have another LED upgrade option for the old E1*/E2*s, and with the exception of one-off customs, (maybe) the McGizmo Haiku head, and combos requiring an E2C adapter or VME bezel, this little drop-in may put out more light than any other E-series LED upgrade at the moment. And none of the other options are as compact as the venerable E-series incan bezel.
