[D-mini VX Ultra] : The Smallest Search Light with SST-50

Consider the same distance from light source to a target.
The hotspot of D-mini VX should always brighter than D-mini VX Ultra.
Because hotspot's diameter of D-mini VX is much smaller than D-mini VX Ultra.

But you have to consider the target's size while a smaller hotspot won't light up a wide target.

I just wanted to post an update for all you prospective buyers out there. I've been using my D-mini VX Ultra as my EDC for a few weeks now (RCR123A config), and I love it.

I tried a few holsters, and was surprised to fall in love with a tiny Fenix L1 holster (available piecemeal at Lighthound). The D-mini VX was a bit of a tight fit at first, but the holster quickly stretched out and adjusted nicely. This option only works for bezel-up carry, but quick-draw is a snap. Comes out easily without any snags - just takes a little practice to put it back in one-handed.

Here's a shot I took in a mirror (hence the weird rainbow streak at the bottom). That's a Palm Pre next to the D-mini VX Ultra in a Fenix L1 holster.



Before that I used a Fenix TK11 holster, which was OK.

Received mine last week and I'm very impressed how bright and tiny it is.

Not important but I think the contact spring in the D-65V extension tube is too flimsy and easy to loose at first opportunity...

This is my first Lumapower and now looking for the second one...

I got mine as well today, but it wasn't my lucky day...

By now, it is dead and the two hours it worked, it wasn't as bright as it should have been, I guess the LED had some problems, the dome came off on one side and instead of not touching it

S**t happens, I'm sure I'll get it working again with a new light engine and I'm sure as well that the expected brightness will also be there!

The dome fell off my VX Ultra...found it rolling around the inside of the reflector. Now the beam pattern is very ringy. Do I have to buy a whole light again? or can I buy a new pill?

Edit...Is it OK to run without the dome? My light has become a decent thrower. Lux went from 7900 to 11,700.

- Tele-Force increase the reflector's depth only.
And Turbo-Force is designed for D-mini VX Ultra with SST-50.
- Turbo-Foece increase both reflector's depth and diameter.

With Tele-Force, the Throw of D-mini VX improved as below:




As SST-50's die size is greatly different from XR-E, so Tele-Force doesn't work very good..
Turbo-Force is optimized for SST-50 with max. Throw.
