I saw that, looks like a great light and was thinking about getting it for some family, but I like it when a flashlight has the modular design with multiple options. I think the d-mini is great for that reason but was hoping the new one would have that option too.

The Vantage's LED module is similar as MENTOR.
So, it is another modular design from us.
Reflector head can also be upgrade too.

The VX is an impressive piece of work for me. I've been using it to light hunting trails to get back to the trailhead at night. Really lights things up nice with a 16340 cell. Haven't really tested the run time though, but it runs on medium nicely for a couple of hours at least. I have an encore loaded with an 18650 but have not used it much yet. The EX kicks butt also.............

I hope to post some pics sometime (as soon as I know how) and am looking forward to the new incendio.................

The only thing I can "whine" about on the vx as opposed to the ex is that the finish has little chips in it in a couple of spots around points of contact where edges come together on the body tubes.........fit and finish is pretty good though...................

I was just thinking that the option to use cr123, 18650 or 2xAA is really useful.

Heck maybe even an 18500 battery tube. Nice compromise but maybe thats too amny options?

I can say they are so close as I have not measure the Lux readings over hundred meters.

I think I can try to measure the readings for 1M, 5M, 10M and the 20M and post it here for your reference next week.

I have the Vx and the new incendio. They are fine except I can not figure out the UI...........can not get it to act like a single mode beam. I had it working for about a day and then I went stupid. I follow the 4 quick pulse thing in a second. Hope its not some sort of IQ test. I'm feeling pretty stupid and frustrated right now.

Too complicated for me I guess , I'm pouting .........

Anyone else with this problem or is it just me? Ha!

Hi Litelegs,

To activate the single mode:
1. Select your desired output level by (cycle) half-press the switch and hold on the power at your selected level for more than 1 second and then release the switch
- The selected output level will then be memorize.

2. With 4 half-press (Press and Release) within 1 second.
- This will activate the Single Mode with your selected output level.

To release the Single mode:
- 4 half-press (Press and Release).

Got it, thanks much. I was not half pressing 4 times fast enough. Not so hard at all once you get the "hang" of it................


I can also turn it off at the desired level. Wait a few seconds. Then half press 4 times as quickly as possible WITHOUT locking........then it is set.........yo.........I passed the test!..................

Hey all, Just joined the forum. Bought a D-mini-ex last week. Liked it a lot but was dissapointed to learn about a new UI from Lumapower allowing the light to be locked into 1 mode operation. Tried the 4 quick presses and voila....it worked! Now I love it even more than before. Ricky....Don't you think it would be a good idea to include instructions in the box that reflect the new UI operation? I dug out my box and there is nothing about the UI lock mode in there. Not complaining...but had I not come to CPF's I would have never known how much better this light really is.
