Just wanted to thank goinggear for very fast delivery on a couple of A3 EOS's. It is really an amazing light for the size and cost.

I bought a couple of your pill/battery containers and they are pretty slick too. My only suggestion: Put something in the pictures of the to indicate size (like a quarter). The one's a bought were bigger than I imagined...not that I'm not happy with them (especially for how little they cost).

    Thanks!

There are normally pictures of them next to a AA battery. I'm working on redoing the image structure and software for the site, which is quite a task, so a lot of the items have just a single image. I'll get it back to normal soon.

had mine shipped from you guys back in nov and as a LEO its been used and abused here in the desert southwest from below freezing in the winter to - hhmmm - it hasnt gotten hot yet. but anyway its waterproof enough and cold proof enough and the battery lasts like forever when used in mainly low mode and occasionally in med mode. im going to get the 2 aa version because the sequence of power modes makes sense for my wants w/c is low med high. i keep it on a surefire lanyard though because its small and easy to misplace.

    +1 GoingGear
Have recently bought a bunch of iTP A3s as well as other items, and have found GoingGear a pleasure to deal with. Good communications. Honest and prompt service.

Any chance you will be selling a solid copper version of the A3 EOS ?

CountyComm (AFAIK the sole supplier of the solid copper Maratac version) will not sell to non-US customers, and I can't even buy one and have it delivered to a US address for forwarding to me as they won't accept paypal payments from non-US paypal accounts. grrrrr !

They have made the same versions for the other Maratac lights, but I haven't heard about copper yet. I'll be sure to post here as soon as I hear anything.

^ Also that new copper one sports a more highly desirable sequence of: L>M>H . Will this new sequence be introduced in iTP natural and black, as well? :fingers crossed: I'll probably buy one in one of those colors when (if) they come out with that sequence.

since you said you can send the light in a bubble mailer: is the shipping cost estimation thingie on your website accurate in this case?
edit: should have mentioned that i'm interested in having my order shipped to europe

Same here. Even if they don't make a copper one and only make a new batch of naturals with the L>M>H sequence, I'll pick a couple up.

Yep, they are accurate. First class to Europe should only be a few dollars.

The official word is that they will not be making a copper iTP version in 2010.

    Hello folks,

just ordered this little wonder aswell but i'm still a bit confused about the option to use a Li-Ion Battery.

    I've just saw ur comments:

So what is meant by "not recommended" would i brake the light when i'm using it with a 3.7 Lithium Battery?
...will 0,7V overvoltage damage the circuit?

I'm just confused why they're mentioning it on the product page at all then
    http://www.itplight.com/product_show.asp?id=197
Battery: 1 x AAA, 1 x Rechargeable NiMh AAA, or 1 x 10440 (Due to the small light body size,10440 batteries
are not recommended since it may cause the light become hot very quickly.)
If i get it right they mean they're just not recommending it beacuse it could burn my hand but not because it will brake the circuit?
Also Maratac just writes: "We do not recommend use of higher voltage batteries." for ther identical AAA Light but dont state a reason at all :P
    http://www.countycomm.com/aaapolish.html

So, to get back to the 1st page quotes, at least it could be used in medium mode then and only for short periodes on high...?!

Would be really cool then besides having a bit brighter light it should last at least twice as long as a 800mAh nimh based on the watt hours.

Maybe someone who bought the light tried it out already?
    Thx for any feedback

    Regards,
    Nordmann

The circuit can handle the voltage, but it gets extremely hot extremely fast. We do not recommend using a 10440 in ANY AAA sized light because of this, even if they can handle it. Running it in medium would probably be OK.

I can confirm this, as in I wouldn't run mine on Hi for more than 20-30 seconds due to the rapid heat build-up (but it is insanely bright for that very short time). Of course you can expect that running on 10440s at all will invalidate any warranty. Medium and Lo seems fine.

Also the only protected 10440's I could find are too long to fit comfortably in my ITPs, and wouldn't work at all in my Maratacs (too long to allow the body to make electrical contact with the head). I'm not real keen on using unprotected 10440s, so until someone starts making protected 10440s in the correct length it is eneloops or lithium primaries for mine.

Cool, thx for the very fast replies.

So i think i will propably end out in running it with lithium on medium, just to get the longer running time - three times the voltage should propably end out in nearly the same brightness as with 1.2v on high i guess

For the size i've just read at DX the blue UltraFire Protected 10440 3.6V 500mAh (actuall 350mAh) should fit.
The grey TrustFire are longer than AAA:
Subject: They don't fit most flashlights
Don't waste your time and money: they don't fit most flashlight in the current market. The only model they work is Fenix L0D / LD01... tested not working on the last released models: Maratac, Preon, Illuminati, ITP, etc...

I just received the upgraded A3 from goinggear 2 days ago. My modes go from low->med->high. Isn't that sort of weird? I would rather have it start in med. I emailed goinggear and they said the manufacturer, ITP, told them that the new ones are being produced with low->med->high. Can someone confirm this?

It is black and natural only for now. The color versions are still med-low-high.

I think GG just made a sale here. That's been one of my main objections to the plethora of AAA lights; The sequence is Med>Low>High. What I"ve been waiting for is Low>Med>High.

Edit: YES you just made a sale. I hope it really is L M H

Excellent...I "need" a black A3 EOS for my collection and prefer L/M/H.

Now if they'd only put the keychain attachment from the A1 & A2 on them I'd be even happier.
