    Hi Ricky

Is there pricing yet available on the kit with diffuser?

When do you expect to announce pricing?

    What is the expected availability?

Sorry for all the questions - don't mean to be pushy, just excited!

Any chance of an R2 for the EncoRE?

If one orders the new version with TIR included, does it include the diffuser also (which comes with the separate TIR kit). If not, can the diffuser be ordered separately?

    Hi bicoastal,

All EncoRE is equiped with XR-E Q5.
The TIR upgrade for EncoRE does not include the DiffuserTip.
But we will have Xmax SALE in this week and it may comes with the EncoRE.

Received my new TIR-equipped Encore today.

Completely non functioning, three different known to be good battery combinations.

    Disappointing.

Awaiting return instructions from Battery Junction.

    Sorry to hear that!
If you haven't already received instruxtions they probably won't come until Monday as we're closed for the weekend.

Do you know how to 'jump' the circuit, circumventing the switch?

    Hi,
I figured you were closed for the weekend. I'm leaving the country next week, so I'd like to get this thing off of my hands before I disappear for a couple of weeks.

By bypassing the tailcap switch, I assume you mean short the battery negative spring terminal to the side of the flashlight casing (where it's not anodized), or something equivalent? I am not set up to easily do any wiring, jumping, etc., at home, unfortunately. I thought about removing the tailcap, but don't want to muck with the lite and get accused of anything.

If I simply connected the battery negative terminal to the top side of the led head assembly, with the positive terminal in place against the contact on the led head, that should bypass the switch, right?

With the positive against the regular contact jumper the negative to the inside or bottom of the bezel assembly where it is bare metal (where the battery tube would normally contact it). A paper clip or short piece of wire should be all that you need.

    Totally dead.

Surprising to me that these lights (or, at least the head assemblies) are not tested at the factory before they are packaged and shipped. Seems like zero QA.

They are but they they take a 12K mile plane trip and get bounced around through multiple distribution points, come to us, get shipped, get bounced around some more so issues that aren't apparent when testing at the factory come to light. It happens to every mfr. from the most famous high end US made lights to the smallest niche factories.

    Hi bicoastal,

Are you using flat top batteries. If so the battery will not be able to reach positive anode and will not light.

    Hi, Ricky -

Thanks for the suggestion. I had seen the issue of incompatibility with flat top batteries. All of the batteries I tried (two different 18650s and a pair of 123as) have button tops. I can see the faint indications of metal to metal contact on the anodes, so I don't think that's the problem.

    Hi csshih,

    No, push in.
If you need to remove it, please take care not to force and it may damage the LED.
The OP-reflector comes with a plastic spacer, and the spacer should be place on top of the LED and keep the contact wire away from reflector's surface.
