I agree, there should be a sticky with the names of problematic sellers.

One idea is to do what I do.... I keep a handwritten list of those who have gotten a Jeer and have not done a good job of clearing things up, within a reasonable amount of time.

As a Buyer, and possibly future Seller on the MarketPlace, my list keeps me from doing business with those who might cheat me.

Valid point, but at very least it's not easy to get a high positive rating.

The particular forum I was reffering to is TalkBass.com and they have a system by which you have to actually enter details of how the transaction went; much more informative than the inferior, and yet still useful eBay ratings.

Sorry guys about the delay due to the current financial crisis that has slow down my payment process. Just to let you know that both sellers should be getting the payment shortly as what I had promise and of course I will accept any kind of constructive criticism so to make myself a better seller in the near future. What does financial crisis have to do with a deal that involved traded lights with member "History". Also if I understand you correctly, you bought a light from a member that you never had the money to pay for? So when you said that the light and money order was shipped and you were having "Post Office" troubles are you now leading us to believe that none of that was true? Hmmmm

Very true. But if this was a situation where he planned on sending the money order, and then was hit with an unexpected expense; he should have PMed the Seller. He should have apologized, mentioned the unexpected expense, and then worked something out with the Seller. Either asked for more time to send in the M.O. or backed out of the deal.

I am a fair guy, and I am really trying to give you the benefit of the doubt but we were TRADING lights an E2L for a 120T. I have never received an explanation as to what happened to the 120T. If you sold the light to get money, well then SAY SO! I will understand. But don’t be deceptive, This has been going on since we first communicated around 09/08.

I really hope to see at least an MO this week even though I specifically asked for Paypal. I have been more than patient and I hope for the best.

Pal if you don't have the means to pay for the lights at least send them back as a sign of good faith. Those are not yours because they are not paid for nor you have shown any sign that you are willing to pay for them. These may not be high end lights but they are still worth a lot of money but certainly not as much as someones reputation and integrity. As far as i'm concerned your credibility is 0 the only thing you can do to redeem yourself is to give the stuff back or send the money in a timely manner.

Hell Light is the kind of person that makes it so difficult for others to gain even the slightest trust around here until they can prove themselves. Two threads on one deadbeat going now and you can bet there are others out there who just haven't seen it as being worth the hassle to try and track him down

I can't comment too much, since I have no involvment, but I think you could have avoided a lot of this grief and such if you had kept in better contact Hell Light.

If you leave stuff like this too long, there will be a ton of speculation. You can quickly ruin a good reputation by not communicating properly.

Cool. I hope all is resolved and everyone ends up relatively satisfied. Bad stuff can happen at in-opportune times. Things can get lost in translation, but as long as we resolve everything, it's all good.

Let's try and change this jeer to more cheers in the future!

It does have some bearing, but regardless of past performance the present carries a lot more immediate weight.

I actually don't pay much attention to either Cheers or Jeers unless I see a name I recognize and feel I have something to add. The reason I stuck my nose in here where it didn't belong was that it caught my eye that there were 2 Jeers for the same person going on at once.

Hope you the best of luck on getting back on good standing here, especially if you're a LEO yourself as I've been a staunch supporter of them all my life.

In closing, to echo Gunga, why can't we all just..... ooops, I mean, here's to more Cheers in the future.

Nope. Just how it is. Folks pay far more attention to a recent Jeer than a few Cheers. They're far more likely to remember the Jeer. You've gotten two that were merged into one thread. Here's hoping everything gets resolved, for the best.

Why is it that every time Hell Light posts its always one excuse after another. If you have the time to come on this board and explain yourself, then you have the time to PM or email History and Flip as to why you haven't payed them yet. You owe them that much at least. I hope this is resolved in a timely manner...CPF has some of the nicest people around and I just hate to see people getting screwed.

Man....of all people for this to happen to I hate to see it happen to Flip.

Flip and I worked out a trade last week and he couldnt have been more stand up about the entire transaction. He told me to hang on to my item until his item was in my hands. Then if I was satisfied with his item I would then ship my item. It was nice to deal with someone who put a little trust in his fellow man.

FWIW I couldnt have been more pleased with his item as it was in exactly the condition that he stated it was in, and I had it in my hands 3 days after agreeing on the trade.

You hate to see something like this happen to anyone....but to have it happen to someone as good as Flip is extra saddening.

Flip I hope you get this taken care of ASAP and any extra Karma I have laying around I am going to send your way. Good luck mate.

Come on man. No excuse. It's really simple. You agree to buy something, you pay for it. Done deal. Not "I'll take it" and hope you'll have the money. Not wait a couple days and maybe send the money, send it at your leisure, go to the pub with the money you're supposed to be sending, etc. Give me a break. Crap like this really irks me. What happened to honor and honesty? If you can't afford the product wait until you can. It isn't rocket science.
