for one OP reflector.
The answer is yes, it's possible. You just need to lift the plastic cover. See this, at the end of the first post: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/...d.php?t=164966
I was referring to the LumaPower Holster that was originally offered

I checked out your Rotorway bird....man, thats nice!
I would love to build and fly one. I use to have my fixed wing, private certificate, but haven't been current for years.

Got my MRV today. It is bright! The OP reflector came a few days earlier. I must say it's even better than I had expected. Flawless beam and the hot spot is still much stronger than any of of LED lights I have. Great product!
Ricky, +1 for MRV OP reflector.![]()
How is the tactical switch installed?
Hi cnee,

Hi all! I am a brand new member of CPF, though I have read many threads, and spent a couple hours last night/this morning reading up on this one. I am not, however, new to high-powered LED flashlights.I am located close to CT, and this looks like one amazing light. I have a question about the power source, and if this is the wrong place, please direct me to the correct one. I was wondering if anyone out there makes adapters to fit garden variety AA or C Ni-Mh cells to a 18650 size. I have read many accounts of these Li-Ion cells exploding or catching fire, and since I already have some Ni-Mh cells sitting around, I was wondering if there was a way to adapt them. Again, I am sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I was thinking of purchasing this light, and thought this a good place to ask.
--EDIT-- I believe C cells would be too large? I was thinking three "AA" cells in series at 2.7aH with 3.6v

I have some questions about the newer version of the MRV.
- Are you using the same driver circuit in the newer version?
- Is the geometry of the reflector changed in the newer version?
- Does the new version have more output compared to the first version?
Best Regards,
Stefan
Hi LEDAdd1ct,
MRV works with 3.6V to 12V
Hi Stefan,
1. Same driver but new contact spring inside with Nickle plated.
2. Same Reflector's geometry
3. It depends on LED itself, still waiting for Q4's mass supply.

"Hi LEDAdd1ct,

Thank's for your reply!Right- I reasoned three "AA" Ni-Mh cells in series with 1.2*3 = 3.6v. I just didn't know if anyone out there knew of someone who has built, or a manufacturer who builds three "AA" to one 18650 tubes. Then I could (?) use three "AA" cells in series to power the MRV, making it a much more appealing light to me. It would allow me, in a pinch (say on a long bike ride or hike) to pick up "AA" cells in a gas station or convenience store and keep the light going.
Does anyone know if a "AA" to 18650 tube adapter has been built?
Also, and I apologize if this has been asked and answered before, does the light come standard with a single-stage tailcap switch which does not require one to turn the tailcap? As I understand it, the two options are either a two-stage reverse-clickie, or, a single-stage clickie with momentary-on which must be turned all the way in to provide constant illumination. Is this incorrect?
Hi and welcome aboard CPF Led Add1ct. Three AAs is going to add 3 1/2 inches to the OAL plus several oz of weight. The 2 X 18650 tube is on the way offering a lot of run time or you might want to consider rcr123s and carry a few spares. I really don't recall any recent incidents of rcr's exploding in a light, when used properly. Key word here is "PROPERLY"
Hi guys. I'm newbie here and interested with LumaHunter MRV. Can I know the price now and how much it's cost to ship to Malaysia? Someone pls help me.
Thank you for the warm welcome!I do remember seeing several posts about a tube to use 2x18650 cells, but no specific date as to when they are coming out. Since this appears to be an add-on accessory, I do not think I would lose anything by purchasing an MRV now(?), since the tubes (another modular component, from what I understand) can be added without issue. The only reason to wait, it seems, would be to see if Q4 or higher bins will be incorporated in the near future...
I also believe this question has been asked before, but, is there a particular favorite 18650 charger out there which is recommended by many CPF's? Something known not to overcharge, and with two independent circuits?
~Thank's again!
Ricky,
I received the MRV from batteryjunction. It is very bright and has good throw. Can I use the high/low switch from D-Mini? I have tried and it works good. Just don't know if it is good idea. I don't want to damage anything by doing so.
Thanks.
I've used this light for a couple weeks now and its simply amazing. The throw is incredible for a LED light of its size. It tore through (2) RCR123A 900 mAh protected cells in no time(I do realize these cells are not true 900 mAh).
I have some 2200 mAh 18650 cells on order and am looking forward to using them with this light.
Thanks for another great product!
Best Regards,
Chris
Hi Luckybobo, Dobbler
The 2-stages switch module of M1 and D-Mini use the same circuit, you won't damage the MRV with the 2-stages switch.
The reason we don't put the 2-stages switch with MRV is we do not consider MRV's size to be a dim light.
It already comes with Hi-Lo at bezel-twist-control.
Hi coppertrail,
Thank you.

Just to clarfiy the above question re: the D-Mini 2 Stage module for the MRV. When you purchase the D-Mini 2-Stage module you're getting the switch in the switch holder. You need to take the holder apart by unscrewing the cover, remove the switch INTERNALS and switch those internals with those of the 1-Stage clicky supplied with the MRV as the switch holder is a different diameter. It's very simple, if you can screw in a lightbulb you can do it. This mod results in 3 levels of output, rather than the normal 2 levels as the hi-low of the 2 stage switch operates only to affect the hi-output mode of the MRV. For those who own an M3 it works exactly like in the M3.
How do the three stages of MRV with D-Mini switch compare to the two stages of MRV alone? For example, does one get a stage which is lower than the low on the MRV alone? in between hi and low?
(hope that question makes sense)
And can one acquire a D-Mini switch as a separate component?
Francis
[Edit: Nevermind question #2, I found it on your website]
