    Hi Fusion_m8,

MRV's OP-reflector is an optional upgrade.
All MRV are pre-installed with SMO-reflector.

    Hi AFAustin,

    Thank you for supporting.

    Hi coppertrail,

    Email replied, please check it.

    Hi wooniris,

    I can do it later.

MRV came in today, pretty impressed so far. Only a couple of nitpicks so far. The tactical holster is... meh. Not sure how much use it will see. Next up the GID ring on the bezel wants to squeez out when the bezel is tightened down hard. Besides that, this thing feels solid and puts out a great looking beam. Especially with the OP reflector.

I just received my MRV from Battery Junction. It came with a complimentary load of Tenergy lithium 123 cells, a nice touch. :-)

I tried to install the clicky switch but was unable to. It goes in a couple of turns but then becomes stuck. I suspect bad threading somewhere.
MattK, would it be possible to exchange the tailcap for another one with a working clicky in it? Please advise.

i got my MRV yesterday from BatteryJunction as well. I had the same problem installing the clicky switch but was finally able to after a few attempts and some nyogel. I my case, it looks like the threads towards the bottom had some anodizing in them. I was able to screw the clicky in about half way down before it got stuck. I used an small wire brush and carefully cleaned out the threads until all the gunk came loose. Re-lubed the threads and screwed in the clicky. Took a few attempts of the process above but I now it screws in and out fairly smoothly.

Hi Frank - Glad to hear you liked my little gift.

Please give the suggestion above a shot and, as a reminder, make sure that you've removed the black plastic insert for the Tactical switch as well. Failing that please see below.

We have downloadable, pictorial instructions for changing the switch (PDF) on the MRV product page towards the lower part of the description LINKY

Lastly, if anyone does have any issues that need to be address please write customer service via the HELP PAGE on the website. Please remember that we operate during business hours, M-F Eastern Time. We normally answer all of our emails in 24 hours or less except for holidays/weekends. If you've not recieved a reply after 48 hours please PM me here as it's likely your email, despite our best efforts, may be stuck in our spam filter. When contacting us please give us information so that we can locate your order: an order number, the email address used when you placed the order, etc. Please email us only once and do not send the same email to multiple addresses - that just increases the odds of being spam filtered and slows us down.

Hi Matt, I don't know if anyone mentioned it, but when I clicked on your linky I noticed the MRV comes in a new color now. Black Type II with what looks like a brushed nickel plated hi - low switch. Looks nice.

    Matt -

Received the MRV yesterday, only took 2 days to arrive . Great light, very different. The spot is very small but its designed for throw. Man does it throw. I don't have any high powered incans to compare it to, but thus far I'm impressed.

Had one issue with the modes. To make a long story short: Don't turn the bezel clockwise to the point where it tightens. Keep it slightly near the mode change "click". When I did this, it unscrewed some of the internal covers resulting in the loss of mode changes. Ricky worked with me on this and is going to run it by engineering.

I may break down and spring for the OP reflector and 18650 extension tubes.

    Thanks again!

    Chris
    Best Regards,

    Chris

    Currently experimenting with mine.
    Initial remarks:

    1. The low setting appears on par with the high setting of my McLux PDIII with an P4 Mod on 'high'.

    2. Very white light.

    3. Did I mention I'm not a fan of the plated heatsink? Again, I'm thinking LED weapon light for this application, hence my dislike.

    4. Definitely interested in a OP reflector.

    5. Glo-ring on the lens, I'd really like the kit to include a non-glo-ring.

Non-scientific opinion, good value and nice output for an LED of it's size. Will be interesting to see how it works out as a weapon light.

    AFAustin,

Thank you for your advice, I hold the brass heatsink while turing the body clockwise then it change from low to hi and counter clockwise it change from hi to low, if this is the only way then I doubt that it is waterfroof light.

Just received my light yesterday and am very pleased with it. It has incredible throw for the diameter of the reflector. It throws as well or better than my brothers Mag 3d cell with the terralux led that I converted to Seoul P4 U bin. The beam has some rings in it but not noticeable while using outdoors at all.

Very impressed with Battery Junction also.

    Matt K, & Ricky

It is rare anymore that the hype around a product is fully deserved, However your description and enthusiasm for this light is completely warranted.

The main reason that I ordered was that the MRV was going to fill a hole in my quiver of flashlights. The 130 pound Great Dane that I walk each night Hates other dogs, and wants to play with cats (they however, not so much).
So being able to spot them is very helpful for distracting her and sparing my already bad back the the leash straining rush of a enthusiastic and powerful dog. This light fulfilled my need completely.

Now some notes from first night out:

1- Thank You, Matt for the gratis pair of cr123a, fast shipping, good advice and all around outstanding customer service.

2- Has some Cree rings inside but outside the rings are unnoticeable to me, spill seems just about right. Low not as big as large a difference as I imagined, however having the option is nice.

3- Had to use a thumbnail to coax the GID o-ring back into place when tightening bezel, as others have noted it wants to squeeze out when tightened. Really would like a spare for that one, GID or black

5- HA coating was darker then it appears in pictures, very good looking. Is that from the improved process Ricky mentioned in post #464. The plated brass module looks fine to me. Light feels great in the hand.

5- Copper lube on threads is interesting, I had not seen that other than Glocks.

6-Even the box is cool, with a magnet keeping it closed. Shows that even the small stuff was given thought.

I will add notes later as I get to use it some more, especially on a moonless night.

Thanks for all of your kind words regarding me and my company.

I'm truly pleased that you guys agree that ther MRV was well worth the wait!

The MRV is not waterproof. It's very water resistance and splashproof but waterproof is a whole other animal and fairly few lights are truly waterproof - especially at depth - unless designed specifically as a dive light. The MRV's engine, when when being used for switching, is riding on a pair of lubricated O-Rings which should make it what we'd call 'puddle proof' - you can drop it in a puddle, use it in the rain etc, you cannot go diving with it.

The HA coating on the new batch IS darker. After the issues encountered with much of the first batch LP switched to a new anodizer that's doing a MUCH better job. The new anodizer/process results in a darker finish. I really like the darker color.

Lastly, we have received a number of emails asking if we'll be carrying the x 2 18650 battery tube and the answer is YES - when they're available we will stock them.

No problems using two RCR123's as a matter of fact in the post above yours Matt from Battery Junction mentions that the 2 18650 tube will be carried as soon as it's released.

Works well in mine. With them and the SMO reflector this thing is a light saber... And the HA coating is the best of any of the lights I have, it is a great rich dark gray.

Got my light from battery junction this week and can't wait to take it up to the country this weekend. Thanks for the free power supply!

    I run mine on 2 RCR123a's not a noticeable difference between 6v and 8.4v
But I like Free Lumens so thats the plus side. Just know you'll have lower run time due to amp draw cut out on the rechargeables. USE PROTECTED CELLS! It would suck to blow up a perfectly good new flashlight.

Does anyone know if an emitter swap is possible? The Q5's are coming!
Is the black stuff epoxy? Is the heatsink potted?

Just got my MRV from BatteryJunction (no freebies however, ). The flashlight seems very well made, the Anodizing is well done. I'm not a real fan of the shiny plated heat sink, but I knew what I was getting when I ordered. I would prefer something more subdued, perhaps black, or at least burnished. I might burnish it myself.
The spot is tighter than I imagined, and there are some rings indoors. I have not yet been able to try it outdoors at night.
I had some difficulty inserting the clicky switch, but after rubbing some lubricant on the threads, it went in smoothly.
Haven't yet figured how to change HI/LOW functions. Can anybody tell me how?

The holster is well made, though I do agree with others, it seems overly complex.

I am overall very pleased with this light. I wish the spill were brighter, and the spot larger. More like the D-mini. I believe I will be getting the OP reflector and see how that changes the beam.

Thanks for producing a great light.

Absolutely! I have never used anything else in mine since I got it in the first batch. I plan to get a 2x18650 for longer runtime at the same blinding voltage! Weeeee.

    Dean,

The Hi-Low switch is actually the chromed part - if you start to untwist it from the battery tube, you'll hear a very faint click and see a decrease in light. Screw it back on and you'll hear the same click and see a light increase.

Yes - the holster is overly complex - I wish the thing would just stay still on my belt, I hate it when it spins around on me. If I were going to use it in a tactical setting, I'd ditch it and get something else - maybe there's a Surefire or a Streamlight holster that will fit the MRV. Remember if you go looking for another holster that there is a 2x18650 extension tube coming which will make it quite a bit longer, so you may want to make sure you get one with an open bottom.

The OP reflector will do everything you want it to, I think you'll be very pleased, I know I was.

    Daekar,
Thanks for the reply. I did finally figure out how to switch Hi/Low, but man, is that a subtle little click when you twist the "pill". Also, the difference between Hi/Lo is also subtle. I guess when I was playing with the MRV in a well lit room, I didn't notice either the click or the change in brightness. I'm sure it will be more evident at night.

    Again, thanks for the reply.
