I got mine about a week ago and am impressed with the quality of work. Quite a long range beam, so I am waiting for the production OP reflector to come out.

Shortfalls?
The two level is difficult to grasp as it a little slippery. Adding silicone to the threads really helped.

The tactical switch was too stiff for one handed, so I installed the reverse clicky.

Otherwise, this is one monster of a light

I was wondering if any more thought had been give to MattK's suggestion of a flood-head for the MRV? It seems to be an awful pity that all the engineering and effort went into the light just to be a throw light when there is a lot of potential to use that platform for other things. I'd commit to buying one!

Very good decision about the D-Mini. Is it going to allow one 18650 or 17670 cell instead of two RCR123 cells? Another question. Can I still buy HAIII D-Minis, two level switches and smooth reflectors for D-Mini?

Hmm, I think I'll wait for the 2x18650. I've been away from CPF for almost a year and I always wanted a 2x18650 high output light and it seems that I snuck a peek just at the right time.

Will there be a version of the MRV without chrome plating on the brass or even a different metal for the light engine housing such as copper? I would be more inclined to get a copper or HAIII version of the light engine but I'm sure, due to the modularity of the light, accessory light engines are planned. Right?
