As above.. looking for one of these serial cables. I need the one with the big round head for the GPS V, III+, 12-series, etc. it is shared among quite a few models.
Pointers to where I can get the 'generic' equivalents of these cables would be good too. I just need it to work for a few times so I can pull data off my legacy GPS V.

I only got one of these so can't sell to you. :sigh: I don't think you will find generic brand of this cable because I think the connector in the Garmin GPS is proprietary. Also probably there is no market as well. One end of this cable is this Garmin plug and the other is the serial port plug.

In case anyone clicks on this thread looking for an eTrex serial cable.
Don't pay that high price at the store, make your own very cheap and easy.

you don't have to have the special round connector, you can easily make your own.
the thing that turned me off to pfranc was that even though they state ( or stated, was several years ago when i dealt with them ) that you can make a "reasonable" price offer, they have a definite price point in mind, and if you don't come up to that magic price, no deal.

I haven't purchased them but I recall reading good things about them. IIRC, I thought it was about $5-10 for a couple of connectors.

Great stuff.. I don't even need the connector to last more than a few dozen uses, so it's all good. Sure beats $40 out of pocket! :D
