WOW! I showed my buddy this light and he was somewhat impressed, especially considering what it cost.

Next night another guy showed up and mentioned Surefire. My buddy tells me to show him that light. I didn't have it with me so I showed him my Minim*g with a Madmax. He may have already visited CPF and ordered one!

Anyhow, although the above paragragh has nothing to do with Starlux, it is awesome that buddy was impressed enough to sugest it!!!

At the Ebay price of $39.95 I just don't see how anyone could go wrong. That goes double since my modded Mini is worth perhaps $65 bucks!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/twak.gif

THANKS WAYNE!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, you need to check out his Blaster II with the 30mm optics...or an InReTech Trilight drop-in for your 3D mag!

I still have a bunch of these StarLux left. They have been eclipsed by the Blaster flashlights, and also by other Luxeon Star flashlights now beginning to come out. At only $39.99, it is a good deal. The StarLux uses a 1 watt lambertian Luxeon Star LED, and the 30mm optics, but the flashlight is a retrofitted 3D generic flashlight. But I did insist on grade 3 anodizing, so it is tough. I think I have 40 or 50 of these left over. Perhaps I can do some sort of sale?

They used to be on my shopping cart, but I took them off, and have been offering them only on eBay.

With these flashlights, I get them as 3D cell incandescents, and then I modify them, using a heat sink, 30mm optics, lambertian 1W, etc.

I do have one up on eBay right now, due to close pretty soon.

Here's a link to a web page I have on this flashlight. After I sell what I have left, I will no longer offer this flashlight for sale.

Wayne, does this flashlight compare to the output of the Blaster II, latest edition? Same, or similar lux? Also, were you able to ship out the rest of the Blaster II's? Still do not have mine. Thanks

The output of the StarLux is about the same as the Blaster II.

Regarding the Blaster II, I ran out of black. I am waiting for the next shipment of black Blaster II's to come in. This is sort of frustrating to me, because I have a lot of green, but most people seem to want black. In the future, I'm only going to offer black, no more green. Makes it simple for me. Only one color, black.

I love my Green Blaster II... flashlights tend to be black, black, black. It nice to add some color into my life. Mag-light seems to have done well by offering other colors (?).

I have the gold BII, but if I were to get a 2nd one it would be green. Black looks like a Mag to most people (not us, of course!)

I'm really sorry I missed out on the Black & Gold BIIs. Looks good in the pics I've seen.

Wayne, put the Starlux leftovers up as the
"Blaster II Lite -- Same brightness in an economy case." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Probably the best flashlight to leave in the pantry for an extended power outage.

Pick yourself up a black Blaster II and mix'n match with the gold one you already have. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
How's that for a reason to buy another light? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/poke2.gif

I have one black/gold Blaster II left, from the first production run. It's for sale if someone wants it: $59.99

Different color flashlights are nice. I like the green myself, and I really like gold. If I knew how to have just the right amount in stock, it would be great. Unfortunately, I end up having stock in green, and all the outstanding orders are for black. If I were a big company with a lot of money I can allow to be invested in standing inventory, it wouldn't be a problem. But I'm just a little struggling company, trying to get going. So I cannot have lot of money tied up in slow moving stock. Sor for now, I'll only be offering black, in all flashlights. I still have stock in green, but once they're sold, that'll be it.

Regarding the StarLux, I may put 10 or 20 UV LEDs in some and sell them. I have a bunch of 395nm UV LEDs slated for this.
