So what is up with the Prices of Surefire A2's?

I see two of the older 4 sided units selling for $225 USED.
and have seen LOADS of the "new" version selling for around $100.00
Some have a strion kit for a little more.
I know there was a sporting gods company who dumped a bunch of A2's on the market cheap.

OK from my point of view the older version is certainly not worth 100 MORE than the new one If it were New in the BOX I would consider it but certainly not used.
The Black 4 sided units from supreme CO in HK sold for under $150 delivered.
The new units aren't ant brighter.
So can somebody explain this vast price difference.

I have 2 A2's one in black with 4 sides. I wouldn't mind if it were really worth $200 But I don't think it is.
Is there something really special about the 4 sided A2's or was there some sort of defect with the New rounded units.
I have an example of each and they both work great. I have added the strion kit to them both.
I seriously I will ever get rid of either of these unless Surefire replaces them with something better.
What is going on with these?

My personal preference is for the 4 flat sided body, I like the look and feel better than the round one. As far as the Black 4 sided, I guess it's all about supply and demand.....you just don't see them up for sale very often. I think it just comes from a collectible view more than anything having to do with performance, most of us want what is harder to get I suppose. Now gimme a Black 4 flat sided L1 and, WOOHOO :paypal:

As time goes by prices will go up just like gas. I had my XR-19C for sale for 3 weeks at $675 nobody bother to get it so i end up trading it. Not that it bothers me but one recently on sale for +$700 and it got snatched in 9 min the moral of the story is that once the train leaves it won't stop, and i got msgs after 2 month of closing the thread from people asking me if i'd still had the light, if i had it the price would be $800 get it before things go up:poke:. Things of live some people find it worth it, some others don't.
If you want to sell me your BK-A2's i'd be glad to pay you $200 a shot :D

Maybe it's some type of "fantasy market inflation" in reference to Milkyspit's & other's favor for those older flatsided L1s? Evidently there's something about the extra "real estate" in length or internal area that make that specific L1 model better for modding? What do I know though?! :ohgeez:

Sooo...it seems a slightly inflated price is being applied to those older L1s and some "perceive" there's some added benefit (other than aesthetics) with the the older A2s as well? That's my theory!

Interesting.
Why then such LOW prices on the stock "new" units. they retail for what $195? or something. Now people seem to have trouble offing them for $100.00 those were bought for $115 and many sold at a loss.
I am not sure I understand this inverse economy.
I traded an "older" but not the oldest L1 for an A2. seems fair enough to me. But one was a $195 flashlight one one was a $120 light.
I was happy to get an A2 for it since I plan on replacing it with an E1B.
Maybe one day I will understand how this all works.

I'm sure that Sportsman's Warehouse clearance was responsible. I think it was temporary.

I got hold of 2 red & 1 white (the white one acts squirrelly though?!) A2s and 3 Kromas as well. I passed on the savings to fellow members here - so it may look like I sold at a loss, but it was break even with me (well actually I lost a little after PayPal, postage, & insurance fees. Duh?! :ohgeez: ).

Karma or something?! More like going broke saving money!
