View Full Version : Donations, which forum, does it make a difference?

I know that CPF and CPFM are separate forums, and if you are a supporter on one, it does not show up on the other. I am curious, though, if donations to the two forums are combined into one pool to fund both forums, or if they are kept separate. Does it make any difference which one I donate to?

I wouldn't want to lay out any hard rules or guidelines, but there are some considerations that could be made.

If one doesn't sell in the Marketplace, I don't see much difference. If one does sell in the Marketplace then the following quote from this announcement (http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/showthread.php?t=165951) should indicate that donations to CPFMP aren't required, but is considered the right thing to do.

As many of you have stated, it is often the case that you do not make a profit from your transactions in the B/S/T forums. I understand that. However, you are using the MarketPlace venue for your transactions. Even your local flea market or swap meet requires you to pay a fee to set up a booth at their venue... whether you make a profit or not.

Again, it is not required that you make a donation to the MarketPlace in order to use the B/S/T forums, but it would be much appreciated.

So, if you're a seller here, a donation sticker by your name does tell the members that you do support CPF's marketing potential and resources.

Perhaps that announcement should be made a sticky. I do seem to recall reading it a month ago, but I did not come across it recently.

I asked because I am considering selling a couple lights on CPFMP. But I spend more time on CPF. Maybe I'll just alternate which one I donate to depending if I'm selling or not.
