Chip's selling his #001 Fenix L0-Ti here (http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/showthread.php?t=166614).

In order to not "poop" on his thread, I'm posting here. But I may come back on July 4 and see if the light has sold or not. :)

Just curious, why is #001 any better than #200? #200 would theoretically be "the last one made". #001 would not be the first one made.

I understand manufacturing. Once there are 200 saleable lights that have passed quality inspection, the whole bunch goes over for printing, not in any certain order. The operator picks up the light, installs it in the fixture, the marking is applied, and the next one is done. There is no magic to the serialization.

Now a limited release of a print may have some more value. I don't know, I'm not wordly when it comes to collecting stuff.

Maybe "Mr. Fenix" himself should autograph #001 :)

P.S. I have L0Ti #039

you're right..btw I have a bunch of $1.00 bills I'd be happy to exchange for a few 100's .. deal?

seriously, everyone knows amps that go to 11 are better than the ones that go only to 10..

my lo-ti engraved with Fenix-Store is even more valuable than #001:nana::nana::nana:

honesly, I can see a small premium for the #001, but not THAT much.

and I think there were 250 made, but 200 numbered.

Are you really that bitter about not getting that light from him? so much so that you have to make another thread to discuss how crazy his price is? who cares? the only business that price is to anyone is the buyer (obviously not you) and the seller. drop it, its old news we get it you're mad that he didnt want to trade for what you had to trade. move on with life.

Uh, I think you've got it all wrong. I'm not mad. Did I sound mad? Hmmmm.... I thought things were more laid back in the South.

I'm just curious why people put such a value on a number. That's all I said. No disrespect to Chip. The fact that his price falling was simply an observation.

your "observation" came with a graph that took you some time to create not unlike what someone would do if they weren't a little ticked about the matter. and yeah you sound a little bitter in the original post, but overall good job not pooping on his thread, it doesnt really matter what someone thinks a number is worth, however you thought enough of it to make a post and a graph concerning it. oh and you did after all make a trade offer for the light.

Oh I make many graphs everday. It's the best way for someone like me to illustrate something. It takes me like 1.5 minutes.

P.S. I see today's price drop is right on the curve. :twothumbs

ANYWAY can somebody please explain in collector's terms why something of a certain serial number potentially increases the value of the flashlight several times it's normal price?

because its one of a kind, there is only one #001, would you have wanted it if it didnt have the #001 laser etched into the side of it?

I think this thread is tasteless to the bone, and im curious why it hasnt been closed yet..

:thumbsdow

This light is still for sale and the threadstarter and attendants of this thread should respect that.

Start another thread without refering to that particular light/thread and wèll talk, the topic is interesting enough.

My 2 cents,
Benny

Yes, I am interested in getting another one, doesn't have to be any certain number.

As for the reference to the other light, what's better than a good example?

I'm not interested in arguing here, despite the baits. :shakehead

The theme of this subforum is "Kick back, relax, enjoy!"

Benny... I find that sometimes it's best to let things go for a bit... so as to better illuminate others... know what I mean? ;)

Sasha's right. Give it a little time and the brown-nosers will show for what they really are. ;)

Sorry, my #039 is one of a kind too. Or one of 250, just like #001

Now, if this was Edition #1 of a Marvel Comic, I could understand...

Give it a little time and the brown-nosers will show for what they really are.I have not posted in this thread, so I think I can safely assume that remark is not aimed at me, but it is none the less offensive and annoying. If you want to have a go at someone, why not just come straight out with it and name them, instead of hiding behind this silly crab-like innuendo?

I think she may have been referring to you. With your many posts in both of Chip's threads and now starting your own thread with the evil sales chart, it seems that you're obsessed with Chip and his light.

I apologize for being offensive, evil, obsessed, annoying, cowardly, tasteless, and disrespectful.

Did I get them all?

The same lot of you who jump out and make assumptions about me, when is the last time you stopped by one of my review posts, comparision posts, or do-it-yourself posts and thank me for my contribution? Anyone? Sasha?

It seems the whole world is about money and getting it from others. Anyone not of that mindset is... well you already made the list above.

I asked the question and didn't get a valid response as to why something would be several times more valuable because of a number. I think the fact that you can find somebody who is willing to pay for it is the answer. If it isn't here, it's certainly on eBay where a greater number of those types of people lurk. Did I get that right?

Thanks for jumping on me with your assumptions when I bring up a valid topic for discussion.

Quote "why not just come straight out with it and name them, instead of hiding behind this silly crab-like innuendo"

Well, if Sasha has something to say, she should just come out with it.

Ok... ENOUGH!.... ALL OF YOU!.... Find something better to do with your time than bicker and snipe like children! Good Heavens...
