View Full Version : What EXACTLY Is NOT Allowed On The NON-Lights For Sale Board?
Come on, if you read the sticky, it doesn't explain crap except that guns are not allowed. What CAN you sell except guns?
Folks are selling all kinds of things like knives, cameras, compasses, cases, wallets, pens and whatever.
As a dumb guy that's been here since CPF began, please explain what CAN"T be sold on the non-lights for sale board and why? Thank you.

Great question Gene...while we've relaxed our "thoughts" a little with the implementation of the MarketPlace, we've really not defined what's NOT allowed yet.
Of course I could start with a list such as human organs & body parts, animals (pets, fish, reptiles, birds), ashtrays, jewelry, common "flea market" items, makeup (well maybe camo?)...anything illegal of course (that may vary in reference to which part of the world one is in - but if it's illegal anywhere.....hmmm). What have I left out?
I'd say if it's technical/gadget/outdoor/survival/electronic related (I'm not talking washing machines, microwave ovens, & garbage compactors here! :ohgeez: ). Personally I NEVER liked pens (other than the "Space pens") & watches being sold here (though I got a couple good deals on G-shocks here!) - HOWEVER, there are those that do like them and I'm pretty sure I was told to leave pens, watches, & lighters alone.
I'm sure we don't want to come up with a looooooooooong list. I'd say common sense should prevail? If in doubt at this time, please ask & we'll make a determination. Maybe some others will chime in with suggestions/"orders"?

Even though this isn't EDC forums I think EDC related items make sense: thus knives, pocket tools, watches, pens, lighters, and of course flashlights :)

what about airsoft guns...i could see bb guns that shoot metal bb's not allowed but airsoft is plastic shooting large plastic pellets

qip... at this time, please hold off if you are planning on something like that. We (the other admins and mods) are working on quite a few things right now, trying to streamline and clarify and quantify and qualify and justify and... all those other "ify" words... a whole bunch of stuff. We'll be coming out with clearer guidelines soon and this will be addressed... :)

I'll say that, definitely, electronics have always been allowed. Calculators, computers, video game systems, cell phones, PDAs, hard drives, computer parts and other electronic goodies.

...shipped flat rate envelope.:paypal: & :thanks: :D
thought if item was routinely part of discussions on cpf. then it's OK to sell on cpf. excluding items specifically mentioned as not to be sold (firearms).
here's an example, maybe a bad one.... portable generators has been discussed multiple times on cpf. which is the best? price/performance, etc.
don't remember anyone ever offering a generator for sale on cpf, but don't see anything wrong if someone did.
