Being Irish and all I have NEVER turned down a good pour of Guiness, does the bartender know how to properly pour one??

The Wine, Cheese & Cigar Saloon? I'm not sure that I'm qualified to post here since I don't smoke or drink anymore. Is it OK if I'm just a cheese lover?

I'm not a beer man myself... though if I had to choose a beer Guiness is way better than *ahem* "stuff" that is mass produced in here in the US.
I do enjoy wine and cheese, but cigars can go.
Anyway;
Now that I've had almost two weeks, (plus another week away form home for work) this month, my bank account has recovered a bit. I'm ready to start buying more lights!
:naughty:
Back to work for you Sasha
(hmmm we need a crack the whip smiley)...

Oh great, first lights, now wine, beer and cigars.
Is this website aimed directly at all my vices?:D
No expert on any of the above, but certainly an enthusiastic amateur:twothumbs
This is a very promising thread. Lights, wine, beer, cigars... what more could one possibly ask for in the first thread in the forum?

Well people, I'm having a cuban cigar, a good tawny porto and a piece of smelly camenbert to the re-opening of cpf.
Sasha, my first sip of porto is a cheer to your good work !
Like we say in french, "santé tout le monde !" (health for everyone)

I'd have to agree, although there are several fine beers from the US. I don't know if you consider Sam Adams or Goose Island as mass produced. If so, there are hundreds, if not thousands of micro-brews around the country and I dare say, at least 90% make (some) great beers. Although, not 90% of the different flavors are great, what I mean is that most breweries make at least couple noteworthy brews. If you try enough, you'll usually find some good ones. My MO is to usually try the "sampler" which usually includes 5-11 different brews. I tend to drink the "light" beers and the "lightly flavored" ones first so I can take part in the good tasting ones and get rid of the nasty aftertaste of the light beer(s). I dare say, some of the coffee colored, or very very dark amber beers have even tasted better than *gasp* Guinness, although Guinness is one of my all-time favorite beers, especially when I can find a pub that has it fresh and on tap.

I have had the pleasure of embibing Guiness in Dublin, Ireland! (I think they pipe it under the streets to the every other storefront which is a pub! :green: ) Still finding my way around here. Larry
I am dreading the day when Emperor-for-life Fidel C. finally croaks, because the USA will probably then lift the prohibition on importing Havana cigars, then the price of them will shoot up through the roof and we won't be able to get them here in the UK.

I'll pass on the beer, but I'd love an Odwalla Mango Tango or a Rockstar/Monster.

I'm from California, but that has nothing to do with it. The last time I drank, it was one of those dreaded "learning experiences." It even "built character." :green:
But I still say, "Hooray, beer!" and "Brilliant!"
Actually, I found that a drink called a "brain hemorrhage (http://www.drinkoftheweek.com/archive/b/brain_hemorrhage.htm)" is pretty good... As long as I only have one. As I said above, I learned my lesson! :grin2:

Fosters? Tell him he's Dreamin! (Quote from the movie The Castle for you Americans :) )
The only time i've ever had Fosters was in the US, and the tin said it was brewed in Canada :)
