I ordered a Surefire M6 from "luminoxman@dslextreme.com" also known as ebay seller "hot-deals-usa". It came quickly, but one of the battery contacts had fallen off the battery holder. I asked for a replacement, but they told me to contact Surefire. Here is their message:
------------
I don't have any more M6's at all.
I just tried to order some today and Surefire told me it was 6 to 8
weeks before they would have more.
I think the simplest thing to do is ask Surefire to send you one via
their customer service department.
They could just order it for you and send it when they become available.
It will be hard for me to remember this 6 weeks from now.
Customer service for Surefire can be contacted via their web site
www.surefire.com (http://www.surefire.com)
---------------
I contacted Surefire and now I have to send in the defective holder and wait for a replacement. :(Not exactly great customer service from either the dealer or Surefire).

Brad..One of the great things about Surefire is that their products are fully guaranteed and they do stand behind their stuff.
Frankly, I think that your better off dealing direct with them rather than some iffy dealer. There may be a slight delay with Surefire but you can be sure that you will get the very latest version of whatever part you receive.
You're just chompin' at the bit to get your M6 working and no one can blame you for that images/icons/smile.gif .

I have had big problems with "hot-deals-usa" also.
He was, and still does from time to time use my copyright photos in has eBay auctions. When I asked him to stop using them, that it was my photo and I had taken it this is what he wrote.

So far I have had to have ebay cancel about 20 of his auctions over it. Check out his shipping charges on X5's. $16 for insured shipping on one X5! Not bad if you can get it!

bhusick, you don't mention the price you paid for the M6, was it a good price? If so consider yourself lucky. It sounds like he is a small dealer and gave you the best course of action he could recommend. If you were dealing with someone bigger they probably would have replaced the part themselves but you might have had to pay more up front.
Bright Guy has them for $323. Was your savings worth your hassle?
Road__kill it is too bad that ebay hasn't shut him down totaly. It seems he isn't living up to their code of ethics. Once or twice could be an error, but 20 times is out and out theft.

Wits' -
Paid $277. Not great, not bad. Not planning on buying from him again. Will stick to vendors on this board. Can't wait for Surefire to send the part back to me.

Looks like "luminoxman" has several ventures going. In addition to his ebay dealings, he apparently runs a a Yahoo store at http://www.lapolicegear.com/ . There is another thread about LA PoliceGear on the Cheers'N'Jeers board here (http://www.candlepowerforums.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=17;t=000143).
Every time I have ordered from LA PoliceGear (twice in the last month), aside from the automated order response, the correspondence I have had has been with luminoxman@dslextreme.com. My first order was for a D2 for $66. The light shipped out the next day, and I received it a week later. Shipping was $8.86 which looks like actual shipping cost. I ordered an M6 from him last week for $265 (very good price, especially in light of the recent SureFire price increase), he said they weren't in stock, but should be shortly. I just got an email today saying it is shipping out tomorrow.
I typically prefer to support the dealers who frequent and support the forum here, but occasionally on higher priced items or ones with limited availability, I'll take a chance on a better price with a smaller vendor. So far I haven't had poor service from anyone except Botach.

Just got my M6 from Luminoxman/LA Police Gear, came relatively quickly (UP{S ground from California), and works great. I was afraid he might try to increase the price on the M6 because of being out of stock right before SureFire's Feb 1 price increase, but it was still $265. Another good transaction.
