I just acquired some different colors of 550 cord and some 3/4" fastex buckles. I made a paracord bracelet for myself and thought I would offer to make some for folks on here. If you are not familiar with these, many soldiers wear these in order to carry a length of paracord with them easily. And, I suppose, also for the "coolness" factor. :) All parts are mil-spec...the 550 cord has actual strands inside instead of fibers so that you can use both the inner strands and the casing for different uses. The buckles and the cord are mil-spec and made in the United States -- not imported.

Price will be $20.00 + $4.00 shipping via USPS with DC for any number of bracelets up to a pound...that's a lot of bracelets! :) Postal Money order preferred. PayPal ok if you cover the fees. I will only ship within the US.

1 bracelet for $20
2 for $36
3 for $45

These are HEAVY DUTY. I saw some on eBay that were $15.00...mine have 6 strands of 550 cord inside the braid instead of 2 (like the ebay ones), so it is much more substantial. It takes a little more time to do them this way as well. If you want one of the cheapie ones with only two strands, I can do that for $15.00, but it will not be as nice as the six strand one and will slip around on the fastex buckle at the ends. Some of the ones I have seen around have monkey's fists on the ends to secure them...they are also only made with two inner strands, as stated above and feel very cheesy compared to mine. The ones with the little balls on the end may be "cute" and all, but the ones the real soldiers wear are not made like that. Neither do they wear ones secured by ball chains and they do not have the cute little metal beads woven in. And...mine are CUSTOM FIT!!! Made to order! No need to be "sized down".

The colors I have are ACU Camouflage, Desert Tan (light tan), Coyote Tan (dark tan), Desert Camo, Black, Foliage Green, OD (olive drab) green, Maroon, Royal Blue, Navy Blue, White, Safety Orange, Turquoise, and Teal. I have 3/4" buckles in foliage green, tan, and black.

If you would like one, please let me know your wrist size for the wrist you intend to wear it on. For proper fit, it should be measured with a fiberglass tailor's tape (cloth ones stretch over time)...or -- cut a piece of paper, wrap it around your wrist until it overlaps over the thickest part...the wristbone, mark where it overlaps and then measure the length with a ruler. I need the exact measurement to get it to fit correctly. Please do not add any extra to that measurement or it will not fit right. If you do not do it this way, the fastex buckle can catch your skin and leave a bruise. Trust me...you do not want to do this. It smarts a bit. :)

As these are custom fit, I will need payment first and then I will make your bracelet. I will make them as soon as possible and will try to ship them within a day of payment...usually, they'll go out the same day! I am a US soldier and am selling these in order to generate some funds to upgrade my personal equipment. I also enjoy making them and hope that folks will be impressed with the quality and enjoy wearing them.

Hey, Folks!

I am out of ACU camo cord for now but will be placing an order for more tomorrow as well as coyote brown. I currently have desert tan (light khaki color) and foliage green (sort of a drab gray-green)...

Thanks! Will update when I receive more ACU camo cord in!

How much paracord is in the bracelet? I assume it is one continuous piece?

Thanks, Leadfoot!

How much paracord is in the bracelet? I assume it is one continuous piece?

Hey, Bill!

It's actually two pieces...the center two strands that make up the base with be slightly longer than 4x your wrist measurement. The other cord is much longer...probably close to 15 feet or so, give or take. I will try to pay closer attention tonight. :) also, due to the way the 2-tone is constructed, those have three pieces total, but two of them are fused together.

Thanks again!

This may be a bit "off post" but I am asking if you know of a good reference on braiding these and other "lanyard stuff" with paracord. I have been searching for sometime and have not yet found a decent reference. Thanks for your time...

I finally have black buckles and will be picking up black 550 cord tomorrow. I can make all black, "stealth", night-ops bracelets now!!! Bring it on!!! :D

Thanks, Firebladz and all! I enjoy doing these for y'all!

What exactly are these for? What about them makes them "survival" bracelets? Is it the 15 foot of cord in them? Is there a survival capsule with a fish hook or miniature compass inserted?
I guess I don't get it. I am willing to get it. Please explain...
I have 2 Marines as neighbors they have both been to Iraq 2x . Is this something that they could use?

Yeah..."survival" bracelets as opposed to the fru-fru type, I think. :) It's just a handy way to carry some extra cord. Yes, your USMC neighbors would probably like these...but these appeal to some people and may not to others. Might check with them and see...

Cheers...

Update on materials...

I currently have plenty of black, coyote tan, and foliage green buckles. For paracord, I have ACU camo, black, coyote tan, woodland camo, OD green, and a little foliage green.

For bright colors, I can source most of those locally but they are not military specification. For the good cord, I'd have to order it and it would take a while to receive it. Not a problem, but want folks to know up front.

Thanks again to all that have ordered so far...

Howdy Jumpmaster,
I know I said I'd like to order a couple for my cousins, but I won't be able to get their sizes for awhile. In the meantime, I'd really like to get one for myself. My rabbit slashed my tailor's tape awhile back, so I had to use the paper method. Does exactly 6 inches sound reasonable? I'm pretty small-wristed.
Let me know how to complete the transaction (PM or email). I'll prob. be using PP CC so if you could, would you also figure in the %? Thanks!

Howdy!

Yours will ship out today, Virgo! Thank you!

I just wanted to put this out there for everyone...you may have seen the contoured buckles on other bracelets. I have tried to source these and everyone I have talked to reports they are imported from China. I will continue to buy US-manufactured Fastex/Nexus buckles.

Same goes for the "commercial" grade, so-called "parachute" cord. Most of the cheap stuff is imported and of much inferior quality to the US-manufactured military-specification cord. I only use military-specification 550 cord and that's all I will ever use. If you request a certain color and need it quickly, I can source it locally as commercial grade but if you can wait, I can get US-manufactured mil-spec grade 550 cord...just takes a little longer.

Another item of note is the construction method. Inferior-quality bracelets will only have two strands of paracord showing at one or both ends. Mine have four on each end. What this means is you will get around another 16-20" of paracord on the bracelet. Due to the way it's constructed, it also means it takes an additional 30 minutes +/- to make it this way. I believe it yields a superior product with an extremely tight weave.

I also ship within a day of receipt of payment...often, the same day.

Caveat emptor on the cheap, imported materials and construction. Others may choose to use them. I will not do that...ever.

Can the chord be removed and re-attached easily, or is this sort of a one-shot deal? I might consider one when my PP balance is built up again. Looks like fantastic worksmanship and kudos for keeping it within our borders!
