What material are you using for the ends (plugs)? It doesn't seem like they are polycarbonate...perhaps some type of vinyl? If so, they might have less "worthy" characteristics...

Interesting idea, though! I might have to pick one up just to try it out...

The end caps are custom industrial strength vinyl.

Vinyl:
A very flexible, but strong plastisol material which provides a stretchable snug fit. Temperature resistant up to 350° F.

I bought some of these about a month ago and can attest that they are excellent quality and the service received was top notch. One detail on the tubes I was surprised to see is that the edges on each end are beveled, so no sharp edges to get cut on. it's the little things that make a product... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sending an order in now. You need to add a product like the B2L which will hold (2) E-Series lamps. I'd like to carry 2-cells an MN02 and MN03 in the same device.
